My mother-in-law served coffee and finger sandwiches and my husband and I cut the traditional ribbon with the local Chamber of Commerce. In the afternoon, space was cleared for me to give a seminar and the warehouse was opened for shopping.

The event was such a success it turned into a yearly happening with a new name—Sewing Weekend. For our 25th Anniversary, we are excited to host more seminars, more vendors, and more friends than ever before. Look inside to find seminars about fitting jackets, sweatshirt makeover secrets, quilting insights, home decorating, and doll making.

StripesMary Mashuta has been quilting since the early 70s and has enjoyed the wonderful jour-ney that quilting has taken her on. During this event, Mary will speak on the exciting world of stripes. Mary bills herself as one of the foremost buyers of stripe fabrics in the country. It doesn’t make any difference what color, size, or style a stripe is. She says, “If it isn’t nailed down, I’ll buy it.” Stripes are great in both traditional and contemporary quilts as well as wearables. In this session, you will learn how to sew with many different striped designs, as Mary illustrates her love and fascination with stripes and anything to do with stripes.
