We live our lives in a regional way and operate as a region
Region is an economic unit to compete in a global marketplace
Planning decisions in one community impacts surrounding communities and the region as a whole
Issues associated with planning decisions such as traffic congestion and air quality reach beyond local boundaries to cover the entire region
In the past, Dayton Region experienced:
Population decline Increasing suburbanization with urban population density decline Aging of population and loss of manufacturing-based economy
In the future, Dayton Region is expected to see:
Continued suburbanization and urban population density decline Low population and job growth Thinning tax base impacting the region to remain sustainable
