July 21, 2010 Mr. Ed Furia 8586 Hunts Point Ln Bellevue, WA 98004 Dear Mr. Ed Furia, In accordance with your request for a marine survey of the 1947 / Monk 52 Flush Deck Motor Yacht (HIN ON 251944) for the purpose of evaluating its present condition and estimating its Fair Market Value and Replacement Cost, I herewith submit my report. The subject vessel was personally inspected by the undersigned on July 6, 2010 and July 16, 2010 and was found to be a well constructed and appointed vessel. The vessel is apparently well kept and can be considered to be suitable for its suggested intended use of Pacific Northwest and Adjacent Waters. In the conduct of this survey, all parts of the vessel accessible without removal of bulkheads, decks, etc., were carefully examined. Every effort was made to determine the vessel's condition and fair market value compared to similar vessels. As a result of my investigation and by virtue of my experience my opinion is: OVERALL VESSEL CONDITION: ABOVE AVERAGE FAIR MARKET VALUE: $150,000 ESTIMATED REPLACEMENT COST: $950,000 Respectfully submitted without prejudice.

NOTICE TO THE SURVEY PURCHASER
The boat industry has experienced a greater decline than that of housing and the stock market. This is due to several factors but primarily that boat sales and values are driven by personal disposable income available to the buyers. Current sales are scarce with many more boats available throughout the country than there are “bargain hunters”. Since the slumping economy has shown a reduction in the number of pleasure boats being used, bought and sold throughout the country there is a decrease in demand and the value for this vessel. Valuations are based on the vessel apparent condition at the time of survey and assumes that the vessel’s engines and other installed equipment not proven during the survey inspection are in fact operational. Discoveries made as a consequence of recommended additional testing and inspection procedures may alter the valuation. Valuations are developed using some or all of the following resources: commercially published used boat price guides, BUC, NADA, YachtWorld, Sold Boats, etc., commonly accepted marine depreciation schedules, various invoice copies, and consultations with knowledgeable yacht brokers.
This report is issued without prejudice solely for the use of the below signed purchaser. It is based on the professional opinion of the individual marine surveyor. This survey report is issued subject to the condition that neither the surveyor, nor his employing firm are to be held liable for errors of any kind. This includes any omission, negligence, inaccuracy, misrepresentation or misstatement in this report, or in his performance as a marine surveyor. This report is only a statement of opinion, and is neither a guarantee nor a warranty of the condition of the vessel, its hull, machinery, unforeseen or undetected damages or other conditions that may exist. The use of this report for any purpose shall indicate the purchaser's acceptance of the above conditions.

INTRODUCTION
Acting at the request of Martha Comfort on behalf of Ed Furia the surveyor did attend onboard the motor vessel, HAIDA, on July 6, and July 16, 2010 at Canal Boat Yard and Allison Street Moorage, Seattle, WA. The Ship's Papers were available. A sea trial was not performed. The reason for the survey is to ascertain the physical condition and value of the vessel to be listed for sale. The vessel was surveyed both in and out of the water. A representative number of fasteners were pulled from below waterline planking, evaluated and replaced. The engines were operated underway en-route to and from the haul out location with Kevin Dolan of Hagar Marine piloting the vessel. Martha Comfort and Ed Furia were present for the haul out inspection portion of the survey. No reference or information should be construed to indicate any of the following: 1. Evaluation of the internal condition of the engines and the propulsion system's operating capacity. 2. Electronic compliance with the manufacturer's published specifications. This vessel was surveyed without removal of any parts, including fittings, tacked carpet, screwed or nailed boards, anchors and chain, fixed partitions, instruments, clothing, spare parts and miscellaneous materials in the bilge and lockers, or other fixed or semi-fixed items. Locked compartments or otherwise inaccessible areas would also preclude inspection. Buyer/owner is advised to open up all such areas for further inspection. Further, no determination of stability characteristics or inherent structural integrity has been made and no opinion is expressed with respect thereto. This survey report represents the condition of the vessel on the above date and is the unbiased opinion of the undersigned but it is not to be considered an inventory or a warranty either specified or implied. THE MANDATORY STANDARDS PROMULGATED BY THE UNITED S TATES COAST GUARD (USCG), UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF THE FEDE RAL BOAT SAFETY ACT (CFR), AND THE STANDARDS AND PRACTICES DEVELOPED BY THE AMERICAN BOAT AND YACHT COUNCIL (ABYC) AND THE NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION (NFPA) HAVE BEEN USED A S GUIDELINES IN THE CONDUCT OF THIS SURVEY. FINDINGS REFLECT CONDITIONS OBSERVED AT THE TIME OF SURVEY.
********** The American Boat and Yacht Council “Standards and Recommendations”, are defined by reference to - “ABYC”. These standards were developed in cooperative effort with the National Marine Manufactures Association, to complement, the mandatory standards promulgated by the United States Coast Guard under the authority of the Federal Boat Safety Act of 1971. The ABYC Standards and Recommendations are considered to be voluntary, but are highly suggested by this surveyor.

FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
DEFICIENCIES NOTED UNDER "SAFETY" SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BEFORE THE
VESSEL IS NEXT UNDERWAY. THESE FINDINGS RELATE TO THE VESSEL'S SAFE
AND PROPER OPERATION CONDITION. FINDINGS MAY ALSO INDICATE A
VIOLATION OF USCG REGULATIONS.
DEFICIENCIES NOTED UNDER "IMMEDIATE ATTENTION" SHOULD BE
CORRECTED IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
"OTHER DEFICIENCES, NOTES AND COMMENTS" IF ANY, IS AN AREA WHERE
THE SURVEYOR MAY MAKE ADDITIONAL COMMENT REGARDING THE VESSEL
AND ITS SYSTEMS.
A. SAFETY DEFICIENCIES
1. Found the fire extinguishers inspections are not current. Inspect and tag fire
extinguishers annually per ABYC, USCG.
2. Found the engine room fire suppression system (CO2) inspection is not current. Inspect and tag fire suppression systems annually per ABYC, USCG.
3. Found the visual distress signals to be out of date. Supply at least three in-date
day/night signals per USCG.
B. DEFICIENCIES NEEDING IMMEDIATE ATTENTION
4. One engine apparently “flooded” and quit each time vessel was operated to and from
boat yard per operator Kevin Dolan. Recommend have a qualified engine mechanic evaluate and tune up engines as needed.
5. Various sea cocks are stuck or stiff in operation. Work free, service as needed.
Blue Water Marine Surveys Page 12 of 18 2415 132ND AVE SE, Bellevue, WA 98005 (206) 932-2415
C. OTHER DEFICIENCIES, NOTES AND COMMENTS
6. A representative number of fasteners (nine) were pulled from below waterline
planking, evaluated and replaced. The fasteners appear to be flat head silicon-bronze screws (6 Phillips head, 2 slotted head, 1 square drive head). Of the nine fasteners seven were found in very good condition and two had indications of moderate corrosion. Noted.
7. Integrity testing of vessel decks, topsides and superstructures were performed by
visual examination and by percussion sounding with a 4 oz. ball peen hammer. Noted.
8. Superstructure bright work varnish is lifting in some areas with evidence of old (past)
moisture intrusion and some open joints apparent. Refinish, recondition bright work as desired for cosmetic reasons.
9. Painted cabin tops finishes have indications of local repairs and refinishing, some filler
and unfair surfaces noted. Recondition as desired for cosmetic reasons.
10. Found various minor cosmetic blemishes on the vessel interior and exterior, topsides, hull sides, decks, superstructure, fasteners and hardware consistent with normal wear and tear. It is not customary nor within the scope of this survey to list these. Buyer is advised to personally inspect the vessel prior to acceptance.
11. The vessel has reportedly been kept “under cover” most or all its life and is currently
moored under covered moorage at Allison Street.
