TRANSCRIPT

Welcome...

At Tiffi n University, our students endeavour to excel in both the classroom and the athletic arena. Our athletic pro-grams have enjoyed tremendous success in recent years with conference championships, teams being nationally ranked and challenging at national tournaments. There have been numerous individual ac-colades including All-Americans, and it is no small accomplishment that in the past few years we have set new standards of excellence with our individual and team academic achievements. We expect our student-athletes to be just as successful in the classroom. A recent self study con-ducted by the university indicated that, of all the athletes who completed their eligibility at Tiffi n Uni-versity in the last fi ve years, 95% of those athletes graduated. While many colleges would be ecstatic with these results, we will never be content until it is 100%. We are proud of our rich history and look forward to setting new milestones as we enter the NCAA Division II playing fi eld and the highly competitive Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. We are proud of our athletes and what they have accomplished. They have been the force behind the winning tradition that has been established, and I am confi dent the future will also be highly successful for Tiffi n University athletics.

The 2011 edition of the Tiffi n University men’s soccer team looks to continue its stellar Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play and capture its third con-ference tournament championship in four years and advance to the NCAA Division II tournament.

For the 2011 season, the Dragons return four players who were named to the Divi-sion II Midwest All-Region team. Leading the way is senior forward Ashton Camp-bell, who earned his second GLIAC Of-fensive Player of the Year honor in 2010. Campbell was named NSCAA All-Amer-ican last season and tallied 15 goals and 6 assists for 36 points to lead the team.

Joining Campbell on the All-Midwest Re-gion team last season was senior midfi elder Michael O’Neill, senior defender Christo-pher Hoerle, and sophomore midfi elder Pierre De Pauw. O’Neill led the GLIAC in assists with 10 and totaled 12 points overall in earning NSCAA All-Region honors. Hoerle, a NSCAA All-Region pick, led a defense that posted a 1.09 GAA and allowed only 20 goals in 18 games. De Pauw, meanwhile, was second on the team with 7 goals and 7 assists for 21 points. He was named a Daktronics All-Region pick.

Other top returners for the Dragons include midfi elders Edison Benda (6 goals, 2 assists) and Ryan Johnstone, and defenders Adam Fussell,

James Dores, and Nick Kutch. Numer-ous new players will also have a chance to make an imme-diate impact, with goalkeeper Jeremy Ashley, defender Emmanuel Adjei, and defender Andrew Wilson leading the pack.

Paradiso Athletic Complex Tiffi n University enjoys playing its home games at the Paradiso Athletic Complex. One of many attractive new fa-cilities on display, the Paradiso Athletic Complex is one of the top soccer fi elds in the area. With warmup fi elds, a large outfi eld electronic score-board, a new press box area, fi lming platforms, and team dugouts, the fi eld offers the Tiffi n University soccer teams a great place to call home. The fi eld is just 1.5 miles from the Tiffi n University campus and resides on 78 acres of land that also house all the outdoor athletics teams at TU. The Paradiso Athletic Complex debuted in the fall of 1997. Also included are two softball fi elds, Heminger fi eld, two football practice fi elds, a Nature Preserve, and a de-

veloping outdoor track and fi eld facility. Another new addition to the fi elds is the Athletic Fieldhouse. In addition, there is expanded parking accomodating hundreds of vehicles. An indoor practice facility is also in development nearby.

Share the Pride, Build on Traditionis a $12 million comprehensive campaign designed to create endowed student scholarships, construct the new recreation center, and make other campus improvements. These enhancements, coupled with recent investments in new student apartments, the Tiffi n University Nature Preserve, Paradiso Athletic Complex, and the Miami Street Improvement Project, will result in a total investmentby Tiffi n University of more than $30 million in the Tiffi n community.

Campaign ObjectivesRecreation Center$9,400,000The Recreation Center will consist of two connected buildings: a fi eld house and an indoor practice facility. The connector will include a lobby and locker room facilities.

Other Campus Development$1,600,000Over the past several decades, TU has created a campus that not only refl ects the University’s own growth and success, but also en-hances the appearance and economic well being of the City of Tiffi n. To continue pursuing the campus master plan, TU seeks $1.6 million for land acquisition, landscaping, parking and others amenities.

Endowed Student Scholarships$1,000,000Without fi nancial aid, many Tiffi n University students could not afford higher education. Since over 80 percent of TU students receive some level of aid, TU leaders seek $1 million to bolster the endowment resources of the University to create additionalstudent scholarships.

As Athletic Director at Tiffi n University and Head Baseball Coach since 1992, I can personally attest to the fact that this is an exciting time at Tiffi n University and particularly its athletic department. As a full member of the Great Lakes Intercolle-giate Athletic Conference, arguably the nation’s fi nest conference, it is time to make a strong commitment to excellence. I am committed to increasing the visibility and our outreach efforts of TU’s athletic department while remaining conscious of your needs and concerns.

Because of this the Tiffi n University Athletic Department annually holds the Tiffi n University Athletic Department Golf Outing. By supporting Tiffi n University Athlet-ics through participation in the golf outing, the community assists us with this com-mitment and ensures our student athletes compete at the highest level.

Thanks for your continued support,

Lonny Allen Athletic Director Tiffi n University

Our Athletic Department is eager to continue our growing success. As our University and reputation continues to prog-ress within the community, the GLIAC, and the NCAA, we want to thank you, the fans, for supporting us in our endeav-ors. With the generous support and funding from friends, parents, alumni, and neighbors we can continue to prosper to be an elite NCAA D-II institution. Your annual involvement with our athletic fundraising guarantees that you will be recognized and promoted as a loyal constituent of Tiffi n University Athletics throughout the entire school year. Tiffi n University looks forward to the increase of our annual partnerships.
