Dear Breeder,

We are proud to present to you our 2012 stallion brochure. Last year, Numero Uno was bestowed with the predicate “Preferent” by the KWPN. This fantastic stallion has now firmly stepped into the legacy left to him by his famous father Libero H. Numero Uno could not have attained this tremendous honour without those breeders that took the initiative to use him during his first few years as a breeding stallion. Numero Uno has successfully defended his high position in the WBFSH ranking (2011: 12th). His first crop of offspring has been extremely successful at international showjumping events. Horses such as Tamino (Marc Houtzager), Tyson (Leon Thijssen), Romantovich Take One (Christine McCrea) and Unaniem (Athina Onassis) are just a few of the Numero Uno offspring that are very successful in Grand Prix showjumping today.

Offspring of our stallions are commanding attention on the internationalshowjumping scene. Recently Christine McCrea and Romantovich Take One (s. Numero Uno) won both the team as well as the individual gold medal at the Pan Am Games 2011. Other examples are Olympic Champion Hickstead (s. Hamlet) and the World and European Champion Lambrasco (s. Libero H) who convincingly won the famous Aken Grand Prix last year.

Merited solely to the tireless efforts of our top rider Caroline Müller, our youngerstallions continue to improve and advance. Upgrade, Ustinov, L’Esprit, Chellthago, Van Gogh and Whitaker have been successful at international shows and will

continue to compete at the international level, jumping Grand Prix in 2012. Offspring of these stallions have been tremendously successful at competiti-

ons for young horses. A good example would be the talented mare Bestinov (s. Ustinov) who became Dutch National Champion 2011 under the saddle

of Pieter Keunen. Also outside of the Netherlands the success of our stallions has not been unnoticed. At several stallion approvals in Germany and Belgium, sons of Numero Uno, Ustinov, Van Gogh and Whitaker have been approved for breeding.

In order to help counteract the effects of the current economic climate,we will be increasing our competition dates in 2012, in order to enhance

the profile of our stallions on the international stage. This in turn willcreate more awareness for their offspring which will increase the market

value for breeders.

By offering you these carefully selected stallions that are bred out of the bestEuropean bloodlines, we hope to welcome you as our customer for this year’sbreeding season. At our stable we breed our own mares on a small scale and every year we purchase foals who will be produced and trained for a show jumping career at ‘ ‘De Wiemselbach’’. A great number of these foals have been approved for breeding in the past. Numero Uno completed his performance test triumphantly: he received a 9.0 for canter and scored an average of 8.5 for jumping components. His explosive takeoff earned him 9.0 points.Dam Jolanda, like the Olympic showjumping stallion Lux, descends from Lord Calando. Grand dam Feinschnit (Ahorn Hann) supplied, in combination with Gondelier, the national showjumping horse Kapitol, who as a five year- old gave an excellent performance in the world championships for young horses at Lanaken. The mother line continues via the well known stallion Farnese to the mare Fernsicht (Ladykiller xx), who is a full sister to the reputable stallion Lorenz. Lupicor is bred out of the ‘keur’ awarded Jourdette S, a daughter of the Westphalian show jumping horse progenitor Pilot. Jourdette S made a worthy career for herself in show jumping, competing at national and international levels. The mare has an excellent technique and is very careful. The KWPN has approved the stallion Pitcher S, who jumps the national competitions and is a full brother to Jourdette S. The same dam line also produced the international show jumper El Padrino (s. Jasper) and belongs to one of the best breeding lines in The Netherlands. Lupicor is in the top of the German breeding indexes and belongs to the best stallions in Europe. He is sire to the 2006 KWPN stallion championL’Esprit (Lupicor x Landgraf I) who has strongly developed himself in a very positive way in both his International jumping and his breeding carreer. Upgrade is a beautifully modelled son of the well known showjumping stallion Heartbreaker. In his performance test Upgrade impressed with his powerful jump and super hind technique. In addition, this stallion displayed superb movement, in walk, trot and canter. In the pedigree of Upgrade the genes of Heartbreaker are combined with those of the Westphalian mare Palette, a daughter of the famous Pilot. This son of Pilatus is the top stallion in Westphalia and has produced many international showjumping horses and licensed stallions. The dam line of Upgrade has its origins in Westphalia. Great-granddam Madame is a half sister to the Westphalian stallion Glücksritter (s. Grünhorn). Upgrade presented his first foals to the public in 2006. The offspring report praises Upgrade’s foals for their correct exterior, their expression and their superb movements. Currently Upgrade is proving to be very successful with Caroline Müller in the Grand Prix ring. Ustinov’s great exterior and jumping qualities are deeply anchored in his pedigree. His sire is the showjumping horse producer Libero H, a legend in his lifetime. Together with Jos Lansink this son of Landgraf I won a respectable series of World Cup competitions and Grand Prix, the highlight being his fantastic victory of the ‘s-Hertogenbosch World Cup finals in 1994. His fighting spirit in combination with his jumping skills and incredible reflexes made the stallion almost unbeatable that season. In total Libero H has less than 600 registered offspring, more than 80 of these are or have been competing at 1.50m or higher in international competition. It is worth noting that many of his internationally successful offspring also carry the blood of Nimmerdor. This fact makes Ustinov’s pedigree even more interesting, as he also carries the blood of Nimmerdor on his dam’s side. Within his age group Ustinov is again ranked number one in the KWPN jumping index. With German rider Caroline Müller in the tack, Ustinov competed successfully at international shows such as Moorsele (B), Münster (GER), Verden (GER) and Neustadt Dosse (GER). The extremely talented mare Bestinov (Ustinov x Indorado) was named champion at the 2011 Dutch young horses championships with rider Pieter Keunen.

Chellthago, one of the best performing horses at the Vion Cup 2009, is a son of the very well bred Chellano Z. This son of Contender is bred out of a full sister to the stallions Corrado I and Corrado II, and competed successfully at Grand Prix level ridden by Jos Lansink and Edouard Mathé. Chellthago’s mother is Carthaga Z, a daughter of the famous breeding stallion Carthago Z (s. Capitol). Carthago Zparticipated with Jos Lansink in two Olympic Games; Sydney (2000) and Atlanta (1996). Carthaga Z is also the mother of Quinthago Z (s. Quinar), winner of the World Championship for 5 year old horses, ridden by Dutch rider Leopold van Asten. Grandmother Inka is re-gistered by the BWP studbook as a daughter of Romeo (G.Ramiro Z x Remus). Further on in the dam line there are daughters of Goldfalk (Grande x Frustra II), Alcanar xx and Flügel van la Roche. Backgammon is the first KWPN approved stallion by the legendary jumping stallion Montender. Montender (Contender x Burggraaf) was successful in World Cup classes, Nations Cup and GrandPrix competitions. At the Athens Olympic Games ridden by Marco Kutscher he jumped a double clear in the nation’s cup, winning both a team and individual bronze medal. At the 2005 European championships in San Patrignano he won two gold medals, team and individual.Backgammon’s mother Paloma, is a keur mare by Heartbreaker. The beautiful and appealing keur preferent mare Kyra performed very well at the mare performance test and just like the famousshow jumper Joël (Gert-Jan Bruggink) she is an offspring of Ekstein (s. Zion). Kyra is also a full sister to the international show jumper Ivar, and mother to the approved KWPN stallion Vincenzo aswell as former international jumper Otto (s. Peter Pan).This dam line brings, among others, the approved stallion Toulon (s. The dark bay stallion Whitaker is the first son of Clinton to be appro-ved by the KWPN. Clinton is a son of Corrado I and achieved great success with the Belgium rider Dirk Demeersman.Highlights in his show jumping career were a 4th individual ranking at the 2004 Athens Olympics and a 2nd place in the 2005 Aachen Grand-Prix. The mother of Whitaker is a daughter of the well known preferent stallion Indoctro. She is also mother to the mare Umatilla (s. Lupicor) who won the 2007 Hippiade Championships in Holland. Via the stallion Admiraal Z the motherline continues with the beautiful mare Filly (s. Wendekreis) who has been honoured twice as the winner of the Belgium National mare championships.In addition we find a well known English thoroughbred family going all the way back to the 17th century. The beautiful Whitaker, jumping champion of the 2006 KWPN ability test, was praised because of his positive attitude and good character. Whitaker, who with Caroline Müller has been very successful in 1.60m international showjumping competitions, recently got a son approved with the Zangersheide Studbook.

Van Gogh was the undisputed KWPN performance test champion of 2005. During the last 6 years no other KWPN stallion has received as many points as Van Gogh at his performance test. This son of Numero Uno was not only rewarded for his great jumping skills but also his fantastic movement. Take off and technique was rewarded with 8.5, scope with 9.0 and his incredible canter with 9.5. The stallion perfor-mance test report states that Van Gogh shows strong movement in walk, trot and canter, that he jumps with a good take-off and develops lots of scope.The dam line of Van Gogh originates at the mare Miesje. In addition to Van Gogh’s successful full sisters, this breeding family produced several international showjumping and dressage horses. Someexamples are: Zhivago (s. Krack C), Cocktail (s. Purioso), Everest (s. Zeoliet) and Der Senaat III (s. President).Offspring of Van Gogh are known by their very appealing types, good movements, ride ability and excellent jumping skills. Solitair is a jumping talent with super move-ment and very appealing conformation. At his performance test in Ermelo he received an 8.5 for his canter and for walk, trot and talent, three 8.0’s. His sire Voltaire (s. Furioso II) jumped internationally at the highest level of sport with Jos Lansink and Emile Hendrix and belongs among the best stallions in the world. Solitair was bred out of Nigrante, a beautiful daughter of the legendary Holsteiner stallion Libero H. This mare not only received high recommendations by the KWPN approval committee but has also produced the International show jum-per Triviant (David Quigley). Solitair’s dam line carries a large amount of blood through the influential stallions Abgar xx and Pericles xx. This lineage also produced several licensed stallions as well as the Grand Prix jumper Figaro (Leslie Steele). Offspring of Solitair are well known for their ride-ability,scope and good characters. At last year’s national championship for young horses several offspring of Solitair impressed with their great jumping skills. The eight year old gelding Zamoerai (Solitair x Kalusha) belongs to the most talen-ted young horses in the Netherlands at this moment. Two of Solitair’s offspring were approved by the South German studbook and the Italian Unire studbook Sir Adelante (Solitair x Adelante) en Brentano (Solitair x Jongleur). This beautiful son of Lupicor became the sensation at the 2006 KWPN stallion approval. His appearance, behaviour, movements and jumping qualities made him stand out and earned him the title KWPN stallion champion 2006. L’Esprit is bred out of the Holsteiner keur mare Hera O (s. Landgraf I) who received very high marks during her mare performance test. The line goes back to the Holsteiner stallions Calvados and Rinaldo (Stamm 4847). Out of this famous breeding line the stallions Lancer I and II, Lados and Cachas originate. In addition several international show jumping horses are bred out of this line. Some examples are: Cher (Piet Raaymakers), Classic Woman (Markus Renzel), White Jumper (Ben Schröder) and Carlos Boy (Ken Berkley) and Cascadello (s.Casall) the reserve champion of the recently held Holsteiner stallion approvals. L’Esprit is approved by the Westphalian, Oldenburg and the KWPN studbook, and presented his first offspring last year. Foals from L’Esprit have excellent conformation in combination with powerful movements. L’Esprit is currently successfully competing at international showjumping events with Caroline Müller. Good placings were achieved at shows such as Hachenburg (GER), Odense (DK), Bonnheiden (B), De Wolden and Geesteren.
