Course SelectionIf you are a wind player and were selected for membership in the All-Region or All-District band, sign up for “Band 1 Symphonic”. All other wind players should sign up for “Band 1 Concert”. If you are a percussionist, or want to be in the color guard sign up for “Music Band 1”. In addition to one of these classes, if you play saxophone, trumpet, trombone, percussion, guitar, bass guitar, piano, sign up for “Jazz Ensemble”.

AthleticsCan you be in both band and athletics?YES!!

Those who say it can’t be done have simply never tried or are unwilling to be flexible enough on your behalf to make it work.

The band is flexible – all it takes is some advanced planning and communication.

Who we are. . .We are YOU!!! We are 150 close friends of different sizes, shapes, and colors. We are boys, we are girls. We have various beliefs and take a regiment of classes throughout the day.

We are academicians, athletes, future politicians, doctors, lawyers, teachers, and architects.

We are college-bound and serious about being good at what we do.

We are looking for a place to “fit in” and to have fun.

Most importantly, as you enter the halls of high school for the very first time. . .

. . . we are the most impressive army of support you could ever count on to help you make it!

We’ve got your back!!

Where we go. . .Each year, the band travels to perform at some of the coolest places anywhere.

The Band will travel to Washington D.C. this spring. In years past, the band has performed in Houston, Los Angeles, CA, San Antonio, and Orlando,FL.

In 2008, the Guyer Band was a featured performer in New York’s world renowned Carnegie Hall.
