Corrosion from scribe shall be less than or equal to 3.0mm for coatings systems with a zinc based primer, or less than or equal to 8.0mm for coatingssystems with a primer that is non-zinc based.

The minimum adhesion value of 5 MPa or maximum reduction of 50% of the original measured value.

The adhesion result for the unexposed test panel is the mean value of 3 results.

Corrosion creep was calculated from the average of 9 measurements of the maximum width of thecorrosion across the scribe. The maximum width is measured in the middle of the scribe, and four points oneach side of the middle, 5mm between each point.Corrosion creep (M) is calculated as:

    (C-W)/2

Where: C is the average of the nine width measurements of corrosion across the scribe, and W is theoriginal width of scribe.Normally the disbondment width and the width between the corrosion edges is the same, but sometimes itis possible to lift the coating system from the substrate in a larger distance from the scratch than thecorrosion edge. The width between the corrosion edges across the scratch is reported as corrosion creep

    width.

    APPENDIX A:

Cyclic Ageing:-scribed panels are subjected to 25 cycles (4200 hours) which consist of (per cycle):

72 hours UV exposure in accordance to ISO 11507:2007

72 hours salt spray in accordance with ISO 922724 hours exposed to low temperature (-20

    OC 2)

    Measured DFT:-

All panels were checked after each application to confirm correct dry film thickness

All panels tested are within the limitations set for the specification.

    Adhesion Testing:-

The pull off testing was carried out in accordance with ISO 4624. The dollies used had a contact area of3.14cm

    2, and the glue used was 3M Scotch-Weld DP460.

The uncertainty of the pull-off test method is 10% for adhesion values less than 20 MPa and 15% foradhesion values greater than 20 MPa.

    General:-

All work sheets are available for inspection if required, and will be retained for a minimum of 6 years.

For all exposure tests three test panels were used.

    Panels sizes were 75mm x 150mm x 6mm.

Panels were subjected to 2 weeks reconditioning upon completion of cyclic ageing test before adhesionevaluations were carried out.
