Dear Fellow Traveler,

Welcome to UTG’s Africa. Get ready to embark on an adventure that will touch your soul and beckon you to return again and again. Soak in beautiful vistas with no end in sight; count the stars of the crystal clear African skies; feel the warm welcoming smiles; and enjoy extraordinary up close encounters with some of the wild’s most amazing animals.

All this and more awaits on an African safari. Safari is the Swahili word for journey and what a journey awaits! The collection of journeys in this brochure represents just a snapshot of the possibilities that await in Africa. The tours are wonderful as presented... or use them as a canvas to inspire your own memorable journey.

United Travel Group has been creating hand-crafted safaris to Africa for more than 30 years. Our experienced Tour Consultants are on hand to make sugges-tions to expand your vacation dollars by matching accommodations to your travel style. They will carefully review your ultimate “bucket list” and work with you to make your dream trip a reality.

But why should you select United Travel Group to help you plan this exciting adventure?

We are a boutique tour operator. We aren’t a “big box, we go everywhere tour operator”. Your personal Tour Consultant is on hand to answer questions, give you advice on packing and tipping, and much more. The long-term relationships we have with our partners in Africa translate into excellent value for you.

Once your tour is confirmed, it is guaranteed to operate, giving you peace of mind there will not be any last minute surprises. We always include arrival and departure transfers in our tours. Our comprehensive pretour documents get you ready for your trip, and your final document booklet serves as a perfect momento of this extraordinary journey.

Most important, we are ultra-flexible. The majority of our tours depart weekly - and many depart daily. We can mix and match accommodations to reflect your travel spirit. If you cannot find a pre-planned itinerary that fits your dream safari, we will design it for you. And you will be pleasantly surprised to learn that all of this flexibility and personalized service is also very affordable.

The UTG Difference

Planning a vacation is one of the most personal things you do each year. You might be celebrating a special life event or fulfilling a dream to visit some far off place. Whatever the reason, you want it to be perfect. That’s where we come in. We plan vacations as if they were our own and want them to be perfect every time.

That’s a pretty amazing statement, but it’s true. Almost all of our tour programs are guaranteed to operate with just 2 people traveling together (we do have a few programs that require 4 or more passen-gers). So, once we confirm your trip and receive your advance deposit, your trip is guaranteed to operate. You can spend more time getting ready for your trip without worrying about whether your departure will have enough participants to operate. Peace of mind right from the start.

As a boutique tour operator, United Travel Group specializes in several carefully selected areas of the world which complement each other. This specializa-tion extends to our experienced Tour Consultants, who travel to our destinations and enjoy sharing their knowledge with other travelers. Your personal Tour Consultant handles your trip planning from beginning to end, molding and shaping your trip to fit your special style of travel. Along with helpful suggestions about how to stretch your vacation dollars, your Tour Consultant is ready to answer any questions you have as you prepare for a memorable journey.

How many times have you looked at a tour and wished that you could substitute a hotel or perhaps depart on a different day of the week? We all have. That’s one of the reasons we design our tours with maximum flexibility. In fact, some of our tours are so flexible, you can change every hotel and depart on any day of the week, and in many cases, we offer two or three accommodation tier choices. If you don’t see your “dream” combination, ask us.

We are flexible. Personal knowledge is key. Guaranteed with just 2.

We’ve got you covered.

Being prepared for the unexpected takes the worry out of travel. All UTG travelers receive our complimentary Safari Delay Protection. This valuable inclusion pro-vides coverage for incidents like delayed flights or missed connections and lost or delayed luggage. Medical transportation and 24-hour Emergency Assistance are also part of this excellent coverage, provided with our compliments. You can easily add trip cancellation at an additional cost (see policy for full details of coverage.)

After you book your trip, you’ll receive comprehensive pre-tour information, including weather information, suggestions on clothing and packing, along with some interesting reading sugges-tions and much more. Closer to departure, you will receive your final document package, complete with a personalized spiral-bound itinerary featuring desti-nation information and helpful tips and our “Take Me With You” kit - tailored to your trip.

Journeys to extraordinary places.

We get you ready to go.

Africa is kid-friendly! We have created thousands of journeys for all types of families -- grandparents taking all the kids and grandkids; parents taking their kids on family vacation, extended family reunions and much more. There are many lodges and camps that have special “family houses”, perfect for accommo-dating a mixture of adults and children. Separate kitchen facilities and even private game-viewing make it not only tons of fun, but extremely affordable. Speak with one of our experienced Tour Consultants for some great ideas to make Africa your next family vacation destination.

If you are looking for romance, Africa is the place. Candlelight dinners take on a whole new dimension under the bright star-lit skies of the African bush. Looking for something even more unique? What about spending a night in a “sky bed” - counting the stars as you gently fall asleep. If you prefer the beach, we love planning a special picnic basket filled with all sorts of tasty treats and spending the day on a secluded beach. Newlyweds, special anniversaries and birthdays or “just for me” journeys. Together, we will handcraft the trip you’ve dreamed about.

Family Travel Romance & Special Occasions

Personalized Tour Creations.Sometimes a pre-planned tour just doesn’t match your vacation ideas. It might depart on the wrong day or it is missing a stop at a lodge or place you’ve always wanted to visit. We understand. That’s why we specialize in creating person-alized tours. We’ll work with you to design a tour that fits you and your budget. We can help stretch your vacation dollars and give you tips about where splurging is really worth it and where you can be more moderate in your spending. Personalized doesn’t have to mean expensive. It means it’s created just for you.

Think a group has to be a lot of people? Think again. Each year we pick some of our favorite tours and create a slightly different itinerary for groups as few as ten people. We pack it with value and add something special to make the group distinctly yours. Often, we select one of the intimate lodges or camps that accommodates less than 20 guests for our small group travel, making the experience even more personal. The next time you get together with your friends or club members, why not plan a trip to Africa?

Do you have a special interest like birding or wine tasting or golfing? Are you a history buff? Africa has so much to offer the special interest traveler - whether for individual travel or for a special group. For example, Botswana has more than 593 species of birds - some resident, many migratory. Avid golfers enjoy playing on some of the courses in Kenya or South Africa. Horticulturists delight in desert flowers that bloom once every 20 years. Working with one of our Tour Consultants we can create a special journey to capture your imagination.

Choosing a style of travel.

What type of traveler are you? Do you like to explore on your own when you travel or do you prefer a little more structure? We recog-nize that every traveler is unique, which is why we create three levels of tours. And remember, we build flexibility into our tours. In many cases, we can mix and match levels on the same tour - so if you don’t see the exact tour you like, ask us to create it for you.

It’s impossible to describe how it feels to see the plains

of the Masai Mara or the Serengeti for the first time.

Awesome. Magnificent. Wondrous. It is a land of

superlatives, and each day, you search for a new word.

Your first lion sighting, your first elephant encounter.

Each is magical, and by the end of a safari, it’s hard to

decide which was better because everything is unique

unto itself.

Tucked into the deep forests in the mountains of

Uganda and Rwanda live the last precious groups of

the mountain gorilla. There are just 700 of these mag-

nificent creatures remaining in the wild and spending

just a few moments in their presence engraves memo-

ries in your heart and soul that you will never forget.

East Africa is a feast for the senses. Plains that stretch

for miles and miles. Snow-capped peaks like Mt. Kili-

manjaro tower above, momentarily peeking out from

the cloud cover. Refreshing waterfalls and life-sustain-

ing rivers. Abundant wildlife. Friendly people. Temper-

ate climate. East Africa has it all.

Whether you choose a single country journey or com-

bine several countries, one of our Tour Consultants can

help you select the trip that will fulfill your dreams.

When Sir Francis Drake rounded the Cape of Good Hope

and declared it to be the “fairest of all Capes”, he had yet to

discover all the beauty that South Africa and her neighbors

held. The richness of Southern Africa comes from the diversity

of land and cultures, all offering an amazing array of activities

that entice visitors to return again and again.

From the rugged coastline that reveals stunning countryside

to plentiful game in Kruger National Park and the private land

that surrounds it, to the water wonderland of the Okavango

Delta and Zambia’s breathtakingly endless plains, Southern

Africa never disappoints.

Imagine listening to the roar of 150 million gallons of water

crashing over Victoria Falls into the gorge below...or the silence

of gliding in a mokoro along the glassy-still waters of one of the

many “fingers” of the Okavango Delta.

No matter which country you choose - or if you visit more

than one on your trip - you’ll be greeted with warm smiles

and friendly hellos wherever you go. You’ll be amazed at the

luxurious accommodations you find. Even tucked deep in

the bush, there is no roughing it in Southern Africa. This is a

land that is steeped with history and an amazing mixture of so

many cultures, all merged together to create one that is unique

to each country. These lands must be experienced - join us on

a journey of discovery.

The moderate climate and miles of white sandy beaches make the Seychelles a favorite for relax-ing post-safari or a pampering beach getaway. The islands are also home to two of U.N.E.S.C.O’s world heritage sites: Aldabra, the world’s largest raised coral atoll and the Vallei de Mai on Praslin, believed by some to be the original site of the Garden of Eden. Mahe is easily reached from Nairobi, making the Seychelles a perfect beach companion to an East Africa safari.

Just 25 miles from the coast of Tanzania lies the hidden jewel of Zanzibar. At 60 miles long and 20 miles wide, Zanzibar is known for its beautiful sandy white beaches with fringing coral reefs – as well as the magic of historic Stone Town, said to be the only remaining viable ancient city in East Africa. At one time, Zanzibar was both the largest producer of cloves and the largest slave trading center on the East African coast. Today, it makes it a perfect ending after an East Africa safari.

About the size of Texas, Mozambique lies in the southeastern part of Africa. Its 1,500 mile coast-line of pristine white beaches is lapped by the warm blue waters of the Indian Ocean. The resorts of Mozambique are popular both après safari and as pure sun and fun getaways. Outstanding coral reefs delight snorkelers and divers. Access from Johannesburg is easy. With frequent flights from Johannesburg, Mauritius is an ideal post-South Africa destination.
