    Note on WAR

    WAR: Wins Above Replacement Player

What is a Replacement player? Most Triple A players are considered replacement

A team full of replacement players is said to be able to win

    50 games. WAR Ranks

    35+ (World Series Contender)

    25-34 (Playoff Team/Wild Card)

    20-24 (Average Team)

    10-19 (Below Average)

    0-9 (Borderline Minor League Team)

Predictions are not solely based on WAR

    Standings (Team WAR)

    1. Toronto Blue Jays (33.7)

    2. Tampa Bay Rays (32.0)*

    3. New York Yankees (29.0)

    4. Baltimore Orioles (28.1)

    5. Boston Red Sox (19.2)

    AL EASTOverview

    MVP:Jose Bautista

Look what he was able to do when

he had no protection in the line up.

If he doesnt lead the league in

    RBIs I would be surprised.

    Cy Young: CC Sabathia

This guy has been a workhorse his

entire career and there is no reason

to think he wont be this year. He has

had a full off-season to heal, and

should come back better than everDivision Statement: This division was the hardest

to predict, with essentially every team able to win

it. Toronto wins it on paper, but expect all the

teams to be within 5 games of each other all year.

    TORONTO BLUE JAYSOffense

    2012: 73-89

Overview: They finally have guys that can get on base,

so the likes of Bautista and Encarnacion can drive in

the runs. If those two can stay healthy and keep up

the production, they will have one of the best

offenses in baseball. If Cabrera avoids suspension,

then him and Reyes will form a very good top of thelineup combo.

    Manager: John Gibbons

Overview: All five starters have Ace potential. They

need Dickey to duplicate last year, Morrow and Johnson

to both pitch 200 innings each, and Romero need to

return to his 2011 form. The only thing that needs help

is the bullpen. Other than that, they have the best

    2012: 90-72

Overview: First off, they need Longoria to play a

full season. They had one of the worst offenses

last year and upgraded it with Wil Myers, who

should get called up early in the season. That

should move Zobrist back to the infield and make

this team very formidable. They also needJennings to look more like Carl Crawford.

Overview: James Shields and Wade Davis are

now in Kansas City, but they still have the Cy

Young winner in Price, and one of the best

closers in Rodney. When they made the trade

with KC, they were able to pilfer a top pitching

    NEW YORK YANKEESPitching

    Manager: Joe Girardi

Overview: Everything is exactly the same, except that

Sabathia, Rivera and Pettitte are all healthy to start the

season. When Michael Pineda becomes healthy enough to

pitch, the rotation will become very deep. The only

subtraction to the bullpen was Rafael Soriano, but the

return of Rivera should make it unnoticeable. Once again,

no one on this team is getting younger, so watch the

possible decline of some of the pitching, other than that

Division Statement: Detroit will win, period. The
