HighSchoolSeniorsGraduatingJune2013

1) EligibilityRequirements:a) Theapplicantmustbeahighschoolstudentwhowillcompletehisorherhighschool

educationduringthe2012-2013schoolyear.

b) Applicantsmustbeplanningtocontinuetheireducationatanaccreditedcollegeoruniversityorvocationalprogramwithinthe2013-2014academic-year.

c) ThisscholarshipisopentoanygraduatingZamaAmericanHighSchoolstudent,oranygraduatinghighschoolstudentintheZamacommunity,whoisadependentofanactivedutymilitarymember(allservices),orthedependentlivingwithaSOFAsponsored

employeebasedatCampZama,Japan.

2) CriteriaforSelection:a) Applicantswillbejudgedonanessay,scholasticachievementandextracurricular

activities,toincludecommunityservice.

b) Applicantsremainanonymousduringtheapplicationprocess.Allpersonalinformation,includingname,address,andsponsorsinformationwillberemovedfromthe

applicationspriortojudging.

c) Studentapplicationevaluationsarebasedonacademic/scholastichonors,work/volunteerhistory,extracurricularactivities,GPA,testscoresandtheessay.

d) Pleasebeawarethatnotallapplicationswillautomaticallybeawardedscholarshipmoney.Thenumberofscholarshipsawardedandtheamountsofeachscholarship

awardwillbedeterminedbytheZaCSAScholarshipCommittee,basedonthefundsavailablefortheyearandthemeritoftheapplications.

3) Limitations:a) TheZaCSAScholarshipmaybeusedatanyaccreditedfour-yearcollegeoruniversity,

vocationalschool,communityorjuniorcollege.Itwillbeusedtodefraythecostof

tuitionanduniversitysponsoredroomandboard.Itmaynotbeusedtodefraythecost

ofbooks,fees,computercostsorotheraccessoryexpenses.

b) Theapplicantwillnotbeeligibletoreceivethisawardifatanytimeheorsheacceptsanappointmenttoanymilitaryserviceacademy,oracceptsanyotherfullfour-year

scholarship.

c) Awardmoneywillbemailedtotherecipientscollegeintheformoracheckpayabletotheschoolheorshewillbeattending.Pleasenote:Paymentswillnotbemadedirectlyto

thestudent.

d) Studentsmusthavetheircollegeoruniversitysendofficialverificationofenrollment(onschoolletterhead)directlytotheZaCSAScholarshipChairpersontoclaimtheir

scholarshipmonies.
