Coming up on one year since returning to Morgan County, I am amazed at how quickly the time has passed. It is a privilege to return to my hometown and serve as the executive director
of the community foundation. I am fortunate to build upon the founda-tion’s past successes.
Graduating from Martinsville High School in 1989, and ultimately In-diana University Bloomington ('93, '95), I have spent the vast majority of my professional life dedicated to philanthropy within higher education in-stitutions and community foundations.
In returning, I find our community full of exceptional leaders working together to make a difference in the lives of the citizens of Morgan Coun-ty. The many dedicated individuals and groups who volunteer and raise funds for good works make me truly excited for the future of our county. As the community foundation evolves as a philanthropic leader, we hope to focus on impact grant making to support our dynamic non-profit part-ners. Working together we can define what community means for Morgan County.
Twenty years doesn’t seem that long ago and it is good to be home. I am grateful for the overwhelming support of our community in being wel-comed back and to renew many old friendships.
