2014 first friday feature - transforming the syossett public library
DESCRIPTION
TRANSFORMING THE SYOSSET PUBLIC LIBRARY To expand the existing 18,000 square foot Syosset Public Library by 25,000 square feet, GBds designed an addition that extends behind the original structure, and also over the top of it. Working with the structural engineering firm of Thornton Tomasetti, an ingenious solution was developed by the team to modify the existing structure of 8” steel posts to allow the required area to be added above the building.TRANSCRIPT
