ANNUAL EVENTSAnnual Dinner & Award CeremonyHeld in January, the Annual Dinner celebrates the Chamber’s previous year’s accomplishments, conducts award presentations and recognizes both the new and the retiring Chairman of the Board of Directors. The evening includes a reception, silent auction, dinner and networking.

Local First Responder’s Appreciation LuncheonCelebrated in September to recognize local EMS, Law Enforcement and Firefighters a luncheon is held in their honor for risking their lives to save ours.

Marketing Training SeminarHeld in the summer, the marketing training seminar touches on various public relations/marketing/communications topics for members interested in ways to market their business with the newest tricks of the trade.

Men’s symposiumHeld in the fall, this event targets businessmen looking to balance good health, finances, family and work life.

Industry Appreciation CelebrationRecognizes the impact of local existing industries on Bay County’s Economy.

Tourism Appreciation Month (TAM)To recognize Bay County’s number one industry, TAM is held during the month of May.Included in the month’s events are the Annual First Friday, Spring Classic Golf Tournament, Jungleball - Volleyball Tournament and Business After Hours.

Seminars and WorkshopsHeld throughout the year, these continuing education workshops provide members the opportunity to gain knowledge in different aspects affecting a business, trade, or current events. Past workshops included Social Media 101, Health Care Reform, Networking, etc.

LEADERSHIP BAYA community leadership development program, sessions are held every other Wednesday, beginning in September and running through April. These sessions are created to familiarize selected participants with issues and resources that directly impact the future of Bay County. Participation is limited. JUNIOR LEADERSHIP BAYA leadership development program for high school Juniors. Through seminars, workshops and interaction with community leaders and decision makers, the program is designed to prepare, to enhance and to motivate youth to become future leaders of Bay County.

BUSINESS REFERRAL NETWORKMission: To provide business professionals an opportunity to come together to network, share business leads and referrals with the intention of increasing business.

EDUCATION COMMITTEEMission: To serve as the liaison between the business community and the Bay County education system.

MILITARY AFFAIRS (MAC)Mission: To promote a cooperative working relationship and direct support to the military installations by the business community.

PUBLIC RELATIONSMission: To provide consistent, appropriate communication about the Chamber, help build relationships between the Chamber and the public it serves, as well as work as the editorial board for the Bay Biz magazine.

FIRST RESPONDERS APPRECIATION TASK FORCE

Mission: To show appreciation and recognition to the local first responders community.

GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRSMission: To monitor activities of local, state and federal governmental entities, specifically targeting issues affecting business and creating a working relationship between the Chamber and governmental leaders.

TOURISM APPRECIATION MONTHMission: To recognize Bay County’s number one industry during the month of May.

BAY YOUNG PROFESSIONALS (BYP)Mission: To help young professionals build business relationships, develop personally and professionally, and to contribute to the economic development and quality of life in Bay County.

CHAMBER COMMITTEES

MONTHLY EVENTSFIRST FRIDAYGoing strong since 1957, this is one of the Chamber’s most popular monthly events. Held on the First Friday of every month from 7:30-9:00 a.m., the event includes networking, an update on Chamber activities, sponsor’s message, community interest program, new member introductions and community announcements. Attendance is typically 250-300 people.

BUSINESS AFTER HOURS (BAH) An evening social held at different Chamber member locations each month, highlighting the sponsoring member’s business, BAH is a great

networking opportunity for new, current and prospective members. BAH attendance is typically 100-150 people.

CHAMBER 411 ORIENTATIONNew and existing members (new to a current member’s business) are invited to a special orientation breakfast held bi-monthly. The purpose of this meeting is to introduce new members to what the Chamber has to offer and Chamber staff, while giving them a chance to introduce their businesses and make new contacts.

Bay Young professionals (BYP)Bay Young Professionals was developed to engage the young professionals in Bay County. The group meets regularly through continuing education luncheons, community business tours and ca-sual after hours socials. The group also allows young professionals to network with other young professionals. Those active in BYP and the community are chosen to be highlighted each quarter in the Bay Biz Magazine’s “Bay Young Professionals To Know” article.

CHAMBER COMMITTEES

MONTHLY EVENTSFIRST FRIDAYGoing strong since 1957, this is one of the Chamber’s most popular monthly events. Held on the First Friday of every month from 7:30-9:00 a.m., the event includes networking, an update on Chamber activities, sponsor’s message, community interest program, new member introductions and community announcements. Attendance is typically 250-300 people.

BUSINESS AFTER HOURS (BAH) An evening social held at different Chamber member locations each month, highlighting the sponsoring member’s business, BAH is a great

networking opportunity for new, current and prospective members. BAH attendance is typically 100-150 people.

CHAMBER 411 ORIENTATIONNew and existing members (new to a current member’s business) are invited to a special orientation breakfast held bi-monthly. The purpose of this meeting is to introduce new members to what the Chamber has to offer and Chamber staff, while giving them a chance to introduce their businesses and make new contacts.

Bay Young professionals (BYP)Bay Young Professionals was developed to engage the young professionals in Bay County. The group meets regularly through continuing education luncheons, community business tours and ca-sual after hours socials. The group also allows young professionals to network with other young professionals. Those active in BYP and the community are chosen to be highlighted each quarter in the Bay Biz Magazine’s “Bay Young Professionals To Know” article.

Men’s symposiumHeld in the fall, this event targets businessmen looking to balance good health, finances, family and work life.

Industry Appreciation CelebrationRecognizes the impact of local existing industries on Bay County’s Economy.

Tourism Appreciation Month (TAM)To recognize Bay County’s number one industry, TAM is held during the month of May.Included in the month’s events are the Annual First Friday, Spring Classic Golf Tournament, Jungleball - Volleyball Tournament and Business After Hours.

Seminars and WorkshopsHeld throughout the year, these continuing education workshops provide members the opportunity to gain knowledge in different aspects affecting a business, trade, or current events. Past workshops included Social Media 101, Health Care Reform, Networking, etc.

LEADERSHIP BAYA community leadership development program, sessions are held every other Wednesday, beginning in September and running through April. These sessions are created to familiarize selected participants with issues and resources that directly impact the future of Bay County. Participation is limited. JUNIOR LEADERSHIP BAYA leadership development program for high school Juniors. Through seminars, workshops and interaction with community leaders and decision makers, the program is designed to prepare, to enhance and to motivate youth to become future leaders of Bay County.
