ANEVENING
WITH
Lifetime Achievement Award Honoree in the Performing Arts
Dame Angela Lansbury, dbe
With a legendary career span-ning seven decades and critically acclaimed roles in film, theatre, and television, Angela Lansbury is one of the most venerated and beloved performers of our times.
The recipient of five Tony Awards, six Golden Globes, an honor-ary Academy Award, eighteen Emmy Award nominations, and numerous other honors, includ-ing the Screen Actors Guild Life
Achievement Award, her film career began with Oscar-nominated roles in Gaslight and The Picture of Dorian Gray. These performances were followed by eleven more films at MGM, including State of the Union with Katharine Hepburn. Her role as the villainous Eleanor Iselin in The Manchurian Candidate resulted in her second Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress and her third Academy Award nomination. In 1966, her theatrical career soared when she starred as the irrepressible Mame Dennis in the Broadway musical smash hit Mame, and she went on to star in many acclaimed stage roles. On television, she is best known to worldwide audiences as sleuth Jessica Fletcher on Murder, She Wrote. Her current Tony Award–winning role in Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit will take her on tour in the U.S. beginning in Los Angeles on December 9.
In 2014, Miss Lansbury was appointed a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II.
