Katrina Badovinac, Administrative Assistant Stark Outpatient Substance Abuse Services  September 12, 1994  On September 12, 1994 Ms. Badovinac began employment as a Secretary for Outpatient Substance Abuse. She transferred to the Residential Substance Abuse Program on February 5, 1996, but returned to Outpatient Substance Abuse with a promotion as an Administrative Assistant on June 26, 1997.

Beverly Calligan, Nurse Practitioner Adult Acute Intensive Services September 2, 1994  September 2, 1994 marked the inception of Ms. Calligan’s tenure as a Nurse Practitioner for Medical Services

Helen Daehnke, Social Worker RMHC Ridgewood Outpatient Services January 31, 1994  January 31, 1994 began Ms. Daehnke’s career at the Center. She was initially the Supervisor of Stepping Stone. On August 5, 2002 Ms. Daehnke was promoted to Aftercare Specialist. Supervisor of Day Treatment and Supported Employment was her next promotion on March 3, 2008. Ms. Daehnke was again promoted on July 1, 2009 to Service Director of Rehabilitative Services.

Gladys D'Mello, Therapist II Strawhun Adult Intensive Rehabilitation Services April 5, 1994  Ms. D’Mello was hired on April 5, 1994 as a Clinician I in the Adult Day Treatment Program. On February 10, 1997, she was promoted to a Therapist II.  Sue Farag, Medical Records Clerk 

Medical Records February 18, 1994 Ms. Farag actually began as a temporary employee at Southlake in January and became full-time at Southlake in February 18, 1994. In September 1996, she became a transcriptionist and on December 10, 2007, Ms. Farag became a Medical Records Clerk as a Geminus employee. Trina Mendoza, Administrative Assistant Strawhun Adult Intensive Rehabilitation Services December 19, 1994  Ms. Mendoza was hired as a Receptionist in the Executive Director’s Office on December 19, 1994. She became a floating Secretary on October 27, 1997. On May 4, 1998 Ms. Mendoza was promoted to an Executive Assistant for the East Chicago Outpatient Program. She transferred to Lakeside Counseling Center on August 30, 1999, then to Adult Intensive Resiliency Services on May 26, 2003.

Marge Press, Van Driver Strawhun Transportation Services May 24, 1994  On May 24, 1994 Ms. Press began employment as a Housekeeper in Plant Services. October 6, 2003 she was promoted to Transportation Supervisor. Since March 21, 2007 she has been a Driver

Darlene Spencer, Payroll Accountant Payroll October 4, 1994 Ms Spencer was hired on October 4, 1994 as a Bookkeeper/Accounts Payable for the Finance Department . On May 4, 1998, she was promoted to Payroll Accountant and finally on October 31, 2011, Darlene was promoted to Lead Payroll Accountant at Geminus.

Teresa Wagner, Home Visitor Head Start - St. Mark's August 1, 1994 Ms. Wagner was originally hired on August 1, 1994 as a Substitute Teacher for Head Start. Ms. Wagner now serves our Head Start program as a Home Visitor for 0-5 year olds.

Tina Phillips, Case Manager Inpatient Services June 28, 1994  Ms. Phillips was hired as a Community Assistant Specialist on June 28, 1994. She was promoted to a Case Manager position on the Inpatient Unit on May 29, 2005.

Judith Davis, Administrative Assistant - Rose C&F 

Circle Around Families Child Case Management  February 6, 1989  The Consultation and Education Department hired Ms. Davis as a Secretary on February 6, 1989. She transferred to Clinical Services on August 4, 2003. July 1, 2008 brought a transfer to Community Support. Ms. Davis then moved to Rose Child and Family Services as Secretary on July 6, 2009. She moved to the Child Case Management Team July 19, 2012 and on March 12, 2014 continues as an Administrative Assistant with Circle Around Families Child Case Management Services.

Diane Fedak, Therapist I Adult Intensive Rehabilitation Services June 26, 1989  Since June 26, 1989 Ms. Fedak has been in AIRS. She was promoted from an Activity Therapist to a Life Skills Group Therapist on October 21, 1991. On May 26, 2011 was promoted to a Therapist in AIRS.

Pamela Gipson, Mental Health Tech 

Frederick Apartments February 20, 1989  On February 20, 1989 Ms. Gipson began employment as a Child Care Counselor at Phoenix House adolescent residential facility. She became the Secretary for that program on January 2, 1990. Since December 16, 1991 Ms. Gipson has been a Psychiatric Technician for Frederick Apartments.

Robert Hisson, Plant Services Supervisor Regional Maintenance Services October 9, 1989  Mr. Hisson began working at the Center on October 9, 1989 as the Supervisor of the General Services Department. On July 1, 2009 he became the Supervisor of Plant Services at Stark Center.

Velma Jones, Home Visitor Head Start - St. Paul September 1, 1989   Ms. Jones was hired as a Teacher for Head Start on September 1, 1989, while also performing as a Teacher’s Assistant at the same time. Ms. Jones currently serves our Head Start program as a Home Visitor for 0-5 year old children.

Robert Krumwied, President/CEO 

Regional President/CEO Office July 10, 1989  Mr. Krumwied began his career at the agency on July 10, 1989 when he became the CEO of Tri-City Mental Health Center. Spurred by the retirement of the President of Southlake Center for Mental Health, on December 10, 2007 he took on the role of President of Southlake, also. Thus, when the two Centers merged on July 1, 2009, Mr. Krumwied became the President/CEO of Regional Mental Health Center.  Alice Martinez, Electronic Billing Specialist Patient Financial Services November 13, 1989   Ms. Martinez was hired as a Data Entry Clerk for the Business Office at Tri-City on November 13, 1989. On August 2, 1993, Ms. Martinez was promoted to Customer Services Representative Level II and on February 23, 1998 there was a position change to 3rd Party Biller for Patient Accounts. Alice’s position changed on November 8, 1999 to Billing Specialist for Patient Financial Services-which currently holds the new title of Electronic Billing Specialist in our PFS Department.

Robert Rajewski, Supervising/ Lead Psychologist Merrillville Outpatient Services January 16, 1989  Dr. Rajewski began his career with the Center on January 16, 1989 when he was hired as a Psychologist for Outpatient Services. He was promoted to Supervisor of the Schererville Office on February 20, 1992. Due to restructuring, on February 1, 1998 Dr. Rajewski relinquished supervisory duties and returned to Outpatient Psychologist for the Schererville Office . He moved to the Merrillville location when the Schererville site closed on October 16, 2006.

Bessie Bowman, Associate Teacher Head Start - South Haven September 1, 1984   Ms. Bowman has been serving our Head Start program as a Teacher since September 1, 1984.  Marguerite Viteri, Staff Nurse Inpatient Services July 23, 1984  Ms. Viteri has spent her entire tenure at the Agency, beginning on July 23, 1984, as a Nurse on the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit.   Joan Wolford, Therapist Merrillville Outpatient Services March 26, 1984 Ms. Wolford began employment as a Sr. Therapist I for C & A Services at Tri-City on March 26, 1984. She was promoted to Sr. Therapist II on July 9, 1984. On January ,13 1986 Ms. Wolford took a Staff Social Worker position at Southlake moving to a new position as Coordinator –Special Services on May 22, 1991. Joan began working at Merrillville Outpatient Services as a Staff Social worker on July 1, 1997, and currently holds the position of Therapist there.

Mary Havens, Activity/Recreational Specialist 

Inpatient Services

November 1, 1979  On November 1, 1979 Ms. Havens began her vocation at the Center as a Recreational Therapist in the Activity Services Department of the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit. She was advanced to Activity Therapist on January 25, 1993, then became supervisor of Activity Services on March 1, 1999. Since July 1, 2006 Ms. Havens has been an Activity/Recreational Therapist.

Stanley Ladowicz, Social Worker RMHC - Ridgewood Outpatient Services

March 7, 1979 

March 7, 1989 marked the inception of Mr. Ladowicz’s career at the Center, as a Therapist for the Caring Place, a domestic violence program. On August 3, 1981 he was transferred to the Adult Day Treatment Program, where he was promoted to Supervisor on May 3, 1985. Mr. Ladowicz was again promoted on May 25, 1987 to Chief of Transitional Services, where he remained until February 22, 1993 when he was advanced to Director of Case Management Services. On June 6, 1999 another promotion came, this time to Director of Community Assistance. When the Agencies merged on July 1, 2009, Mr. Ladowicz became the Service Director of Residential Services. Since July 2, 2012 Mr. Ladowicz has taken on the role of Social Worker in our newest facility at Ridgewood.

Gary Ronjak, Social Worker Recovery Matters

November 9, 1979 

Mr. Ronjak started his employment on November 9, 1979 as a Mental Health Technician on the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit. On May 18, 1981 he as advanced to Forensic Services at Lake County Jail as a Crisis Intervention Specialist, where he was promoted to Clinician II on June 10, 1988. From April 2 to May 7, 1990 Mr. Ronjak was Acting Director of Forensic Services. June 25, 1992 brought another advancement to Staff Social Worker. Mr. Ronjak became the Coordinator of Behavioral Health Services at Lake County Jail on February 7, 2007, then on July 7, 2007 he received the title of Coordinator of the Forensic Diversion Program. On November 24, 2008, Mr. Ronjak became a Social Worker for Stark Rehabilitation

Judy Sikora, Chief Financial Officer 

Executive Office

September 24, 1979   Ms. Sikora was hired at Southlake on September 24, 1979 as the Director of Finance. On April 18, 1981, she was promoted to Controller. Her next promotion came on July 1, 1986, as the Vice President of Operations. On July 1, 1992, Ms. Sikora’s position changed to Vice President of Finance. Finally on July 2, 2014, Ms. Sikora was promoted to her current position as Chief Financial Officer.

Thomas Zygmunt, Therapist Strawhun Adult Intensive

Rehabilitation Services 

August 20, 1979  

On August 20, 1989 Mr. Zygmunt was rehired as a Mental Health Technician on the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit. He was promoted to Therapist I for Adult Day Treatment on December 6, 1982.
