Awards: All hours must be logged on the official NFHR form. All logs for a year must be received no later than February 1st of the following year in order for the hours to be applied toward an award. Prizes will be awarded as follows (Note: the NFHR reserves the right to substitute prizes without notice):

Rev. 7/19/2010

This award encourages the use of the Norwegian Fjord Horse as a trail riding and/or driving horse by recognizing the number of hours that applicants trail ride and/or drive their horse or horses. Winners of the award receive various prizes depending on the number of hours they log with their horse or horses. Eligibility: In order to be eligible for this award, the Fjord Horse(s) must be registered with the Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry and the applicant must be a member of the Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry for the entire time that hours are logged for this award. Logging Hours: Hours logged should be only for actual hours of trail riding and/or driving. A trail is defined as a road, lane, or path used for riding and/or driving that is not enclosed (i.e. not a pasture or arena). NFHR AWARDS PROGRAM STEPPIN’ OUT with your FJORD(S) AWARD

Rev. 7/19/2010

This award encourages the applicants to get their Norwegian Fjord Horse or Horses out into the public eye, by taking them to shows, clinics, fairs and expositions, parades, organized trail rides and drives, and other public events. Events which include various breeds of horses are particularly encouraged. Qualifying: An applicant can earn this award by logging a specific number of hours displaying their horse or horses at public events, whether or not the horses actually perform at that event or are merely on exhibit there. Logging Hours: Hours logged should be only for actual hours the applicant displays their Fjord(s). If the applicant stays overnight at an event, only waking hours when the event is open to the public and when the applicant is physically present at the event. The event must be open to the public in order for hours to be counted, and at least 20 non-Fjord Horse owners must attend the event, whether as participants or spectators. Events attended strictly by Fjord Horse owners, such as Evaluation Clinics, do not count because they do not fulfill the ‘mission’ of getting Fjord Horses out into the public eye; similarly, clinics that are not open to the public cannot have their hours logged. Showing, participation in clinics, and trail riding are all acceptable activities that can be applied towards this award, regardless of whether or not the hours in question are also used to apply for another award. Awards: All hours must be logged on the official NFHR form. All logs for a year must be received no later than February 1st of the following year in order for the hours to be applied toward an award. Prizes will be awarded as follows (Note: the NFHR reserves the right to substitute prizes without notice):

A. 500 hours: Plaque. B. 1500 hours: Trophy and photo in the Fjord Herald. C. 3000 hours: Special prize and photo in the Fjord Herald.

Applications: To register in this program, send the accompanying application with a $25 [U.S. dollars] application fee made out to the Norwegian Fjord Horse Registry to NFHR Awards, 1801 W County Rd 4, Berthoud, CO 80513. Contact Anne Karns-Crandall, 8539 13 Mile Road, Marshall, MI, 49068 or email to [email protected] with any questions. Applications must be postmarked before the first hours can be logged. Thereafter there is no time limit for completion of criteria for the award. All hourly logs for a year must be received no later than February 1st of the next year to be counted. Please remember to make copies of your application before sending to the NFHR. Please submit the points within 30 days of earning them. Thanks for your cooperation
