The Mansfi eld Activities Center (MAC) provides a variety of activities for all ages. The MAC offers a full-size gymnasium with divider, a kitchen and four multi-purpose rooms that are perfect for birthday parties, family reunions, showers, wedding receptions and more. For rental information, see page 19. From 9:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday through Friday, the MAC is home to the Mansfi eld Senior Lifestyles program serving adults age 55 and up. Daily activities such as card playing, a nutrition program, day trips, speakers, health fairs and more are offered. For more senior information, see pages 15 – 17.

All youth sports in the City of Mansfi eld are operated

by separate volunteer associations. The City of

Mansfi eld owns and operates the athletic fi elds and contracts those fi elds to the associations

during each season. Athletic fi elds are available for rental when fi elds are

not under contract with local sports associations.

Youth Recreation ScholarshipsThe City of Mansfi eld Youth Recreation Scholarship Program is designed to help children in families with limited fi nancial resources participate in the City of Mansfi eld recreation programs and activities. Recipients of a Youth Recreation Scholarship will receive 80% off the program of their choice for that brochure.

To be eligible for a scholarship, the child must:• Be a resident of the City of Mansfi eld• Be age 17 or younger• Meet income eligibility guidelines

Membership

A facility identifi cation card (MAC Card) is required for use of the facility, registration in most programs and for rental use of the MAC. Everyone age 2 and older must purchase a MAC Card to participate at the Mansfi eld Activities Center. You must check in and scan your MAC Card at the front desk on each visit to the center. You may use your MAC Card to check out gym equipment. An annual waiver must be signed each time a membership is purchased or renewed.

How to Register in Person All memberships and facility and park rentals must be done in person at the Mansfi eld Activities Center. You may also register for courses and programs at the MAC front desk on a fi rst-come, fi rst-served basis. Be aware that certain classes do fi ll quickly, so please plan ahead. Additionally, we ask that you register at least 3 business days before the start of a program. There will be a $5 late fee for any registration made less than 3 business days before a class begins. Payment is accepted by cash, check, MasterCard or Visa (with appropriate ID). You will need a current MAC Card before registering and all fees must be paid in full at the time of registration. You may join a class that is already in session, but full payment is still due. Individuals are responsible for making informed decisions regarding the products, programs and services presented in this brochure.

How to Register Onlinewww.mansfi eldparks.comTo register for courses or programs online, you need to have an active account with the MAC and a Visa or MasterCard. Not all programs require a MAC Card, but to receive your login information, you must have an established account at the MAC. Browsing for activities does not require an account. Online membership renewal is not available at this time.

If you have an account, you may obtain your login ID and account PIN by calling the MAC during business hours at 817-453-5420 or if you have previously provided an email address you may retrieve your information from the My Account tab. To establish an account or renew your MAC membership, you will need to visit the MAC located at 106 S. Wisteria St.

Mrs. Rachel’s Creative Dance (2½ – 5Y) Children will be introduced to the fundamentals of ballet and jazz in a creative and fun way. Dancers will learn how to chasse, bouree walk, soutea and many other dance terms. There is never a repeat lesson and Mrs. Rachel will make sure dancers at all levels are challenged. Princess Ballerina (3 – 6Y) Our princess ballerinas will have fun with fairytale magic as we dance to our favorite princess music and fairytale songs. Baby Signs (6M – 5Y) This is a series of eight theme-based classes covering more than 30 useful signs that are taught through fun songs, books and activities. These sessions are designed for parents and babies to attend together. Come learn simple ways to support your baby or toddler’s intellectual development while incorporating signs for meal time, daily routines and exploring the world around him or her.

Toddler Time (1M – 4Y) Toddlers, accompanied by parents, interact and learn with other children their age in this safe, climate-controlled playtime. Bowmen Sports Elementary Basketball Camp (7 – 15Y) Bowmen Sports Basketball is a super-fun clinic designed for players of all skills and abilities. Program time will focus on dribbling, passing, shooting and rebounding. This is a skill-based program which utilizes drills and games to reinforce techniques being taught. Part of each class time will be used for game scrimmages.

Lacrosse – Sticks 4 Kids (5 – 17Y) Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing team sports in DFW. Sticks 4 Kids is a beginner program that will teach the fundamentals of the game. Students will learn the basic terminology and teamwork concepts from a former Division 1 NCAA lacrosse coach, all in a fun and safe environment. This class meets the last Saturday of each program for an on-fi eld lesson.

Kids Tennis Club (4 – 11Y) Tennis is now ‘kid-sized.’ We utilize Quickstart Tennis, meaning smaller racquets, larger balls, shorter nets and modifi ed scoring to get your little one interested in the fun game of tennis. This course will give your child the basics to get them started. No equipment is necessary. This class is taught in the gym inside the MAC.

Guitar – Beginner (10Y+) No experience is required for this fun and easy class. Doug Crites teaches you to tune and play the basic beginning chords. Beginner Sewing (12Y+)Students will begin by getting familiar with

their machine, basic sewing terminology and simple construction through different projects each class. Lessons will develop on skills such as how to pin, cut and sew a straight seam, iron and fi nish a seam. Students will construct projects such as pillowcases, pajama pants, tote bags and more. Nature Education

Night Hike with a Naturalist Some of the residents of Mansfi eld are only active during the evening and night. Join a naturalist as we try to identify some of the sounds and sights of natural night life. Wear weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes. No need for a fl ashlight. Your eyes will adjust to the darkness! Adult supervision required for all young attendees.

Summer Time Birds When was the last time you stopped to listen to the birds? Birds are even active during the hot days of the summer. In this program, you’ll learn about some of the birds in Mansfi eld and get a close-up look at the birds in the treehouse and bird blinds at Oliver Nature Park.
