Summer Day Camp is an all day program, offered in 9-week, 5-week, 4-week and weekly options. Lunch and snack options are available at some branches

At Day Camp, your child will enjoy an enriched summer filled with a range of activities. An educational recreation curriculum awaits our Discoverers (entering Grades 1-3) and our Adventurers (entering Grades 4 -7). Each two week session is themed to feature unique project activities with lots of time for outdoor explorations, craft making, sports and swimming, and of course, friendship and fun! Highlights include nature and scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, cooking and construction projects, and more!

Y ULTiMATE SUMMER CAMP PACKAGE Day Camp combined with overnight weeklong camp at Camp Erdman!

Our Y Ultimate Summer Camp package brings together two great summer experiences at an incredibly affordable price! Your child will enjoy three exciting weeks of day camp at the Y branch of your choice AND a weeklong overnight camp at Camp Erdman on the North Shore! Day camp at the Y is where kids make friendships, connect with their group counselors, and engage in project-based curriculum. Camp Erdman is where kids unplug from their devices, build confidence and independence, and interact with our island’s natural environment.

For children attending summer school at DOE or independent schools, this program provides afternoon time for homework and reading/book sharing, swimming, arts and crafts, sports skills, music and dance, and exciting excursions. Program fee includes transportation from select schools to the YMCA branch and a full day of fun and care during non-summer school days/weeks.

Dates vary according to summer school schedule. Times start from dismissal at attending summer school to 5:30 pm or 6:00 pm.

Summer School rates will be calculated based on the start and end dates of each summer school program and dismissal times. Please inquire with your selected branch for specific rates.

Or dreamed of constructing a structure or toy that could be the next wonder of the world? Be a part of the Y’s Inventors Workshop and see where your scientific mind takes you.

SESSioN 4 | JULY 21 - AUGUST 1** | ExPLoRATioN ‘AiNA Our island environment is a natural classroom filled with fun learning adventures! Campers will hike, engage with animal and plant life, create with nature’s treasures, and go to rarely visited places for new experiences.

diSCoVERERS (ENTERiNG GRAdES 1-3) Visit local farms and learn about preparing and harvesting foods. Discover how our meals get from the fields to the table....go for the gold at our Keiki Olympics.

AdVENTURERS (ENTERiNG GRAdES 4-7) Compete in a variety of fitness challenges to cook-offs. Experience the thrill of a 2-night adventure at Camp Erdman. An additional camp fee of $65 will be assessed.

diSCoVERERS (ENTERiNG GRAdES 1-3) Discover your artistic talent through still drawings and painting. Learn new techniques to create your own masterpieces.

AdVENTURERS (ENTERiNG GRAdES 4-7) Expand on your creative talents using various art mediums and techniques including sculpture and collage making.

dhS Reimbursement Paperwork Parents who are receiving DHS benefits and need their DHS 918 Child Care Certificate and Provider Confirmation Form completed must pay the program fees in full. Once payment is made at your YMCA Branch, the DHS 918 Form may be submitted. All information must be completed including the “Worker’s Name,” “Unit/Tel,” and “Client ID#.” Incomplete forms will be returned delaying the registration process. Please contact your YMCA branch for more information.

Confirmation and program information Summer packets will be mailed to confirm enrollment and provide details/program information and lunch/snack options (available for full day programs) after we receive your registration.

cancellation policy Should you need to make changes to your child’s registration, call the appropriate YMCA branch as soon as possible. Cancellations must be made in writing and received prior to the start of the program. Cancellations are subject to a processing fee as follows: prior to the start of the program — refund less 30% (or up to $50), on the first day of program — prorated refund less 30% (or up to $50), no refunds or credits after the first day of program. A $25 fee will be applied for any checks or credit card payments returned from your financial institution due to insufficient funds.

medical requirements To assist the Y in providing a safe environment and the best care possible for our participants, parents/guardians are asked to provide information on any medical needs that their child/teen may have (e.g. food allergies, physical limitations). This information should be provided on the Registration Form or in writing prior to the child/teen starting the program.

Children and teens who are not registered students in a Department of Education or licensed independent school in the State of Hawai‘i (out of state, international) are required to provide proof of Tuberculosis clearance by a license physician at the time of registration. For foreign language assistance, please inquire at the Y branch.

Designed for parent and child participation, class establishes trust and teaches parents how to guide and supervise their children around the water. Your child will be exposed to basic movements.

• Preschool (Ages 3–5 Years) Four levels designed to help children progress and build elementary swimming and safety skills. Small group instruction emphasizes the development of coordination, endurance, and self-confidence of the preschooler.

• Youth (Ages 6–12 Years) A six level progressive swim program designed to help children grow personally and develop strokes and safety skills. Emphasis is on endurance, personal safety, skill development, and lifesaving techniques.

Private swim lessons are a great opportunity to learn to swim from a skilled teacher on a one-on-one basis. Each session is 30 minutes in length. All lessons packages are pre-paid and non-refundable.

SWiM TEAM (AGES 6-18 YEARS) Increase your speed and endurance by joining your local Y Swim Team. Swimmers develop confidence, strength, a life-time love of swimming, and develop a healthy lifestyle while creating bonds of friendship through team sports. Teams compete in 6-8 swim meets throughout the year with other branch teams. Contact your local Y for practice times.

WATER PoLolocations: Central and Mililani We are excited to offer a water polo program with beginner classes. Our well-trained staff focuses on developing the skills needed for children to enjoy this fast-paced sport such as treading, passing, building swimming strength, as well as offering a safe and fun experience in the water.

SYNChRoNizEd SWiMMiNGlocation: Leeward Synchronized swimming is an excellent alternative or complement to YMCA Swim Lessons. Beginner swimming skills are required. Participants develop body control, agility, breath control, endurance and the ability to swim with others to a rhythmic accompaniment.
