Klarer Freizeitanlagen AG is a traditional family business with

headquarters in Hallau, in northern Switzerland. Surrounded

by vineyards in the Klettgau Region, we have designed and

produced water slides and water amusements for clients from

around the world for more than thirty years. Armin Klarer,

company founder, has now handed over the reins to his

two children, Claudia and Stefan. A young, dynamic team

of motivated experts will support you from the initial consul-

tation until installation is complete. In addition to our home

team, our many agents located throughout Europe are also

ready to help.

offers a wide variety of exciting sliding options for the entire

family. Features such as personalized route layouts, accelerat-

It doesn‘t get any darker than this!

The Tube Slide is another classic format, and our special dark-

ened version, known as the Black Hole, takes tube sliding to a

new level. Alternating translucent segments create impressive

light and dark effects, adding a visual component to the slid-

ing experience. Completely transparent Plexiglas tube compo-

nents give sliders the feeling of floating on air before rushing

back into the depth of the tube.

But it does not stop there: the Black Hole offers an almost

The optimized raft slide

Limited space is one of the biggest problems in many water-

parks. The Magic Tube is the compact version of our extremely

popular Magic Eye and can be used as a body slide, with

single or double rafts or with sliding mats. The Magic Tube

uses a minimum of space and its oval form provides users

with maximum sliding fun on rafts or mats.

The uncovered version of the Magic Tube is the Magic Slide,

Not for the fainthearted: a pure adrenaline rush in a water slide

Just like stepping off a ledge into thin air: the Kamikaze / Free-

Fall slide. Simulating a free fall, riders reach maximum speed

in seconds arriving safely in a landing pool specially designed

to decelerate comfortably. The ride only lasts a few moments,

overcoming your fear usually takes longer!

Sometimes the craziest idea offers the greatest potential for innovation

A true pioneering spirit views the impossible through a lens

of possibility, seeking to overcome obstacles by turning vision

into reality. After months of development, we have construct-

ed the first loop-the-loop water slide prototype, which has

been tested at our headquarters in Switzerland. A worldwide

first that you can experience! This is an idea that has become

reality. First conceived as a vertical loop design, the resulting

high G-forces had to be reduced. The solution is found in the

current design, a feat of engineering innovation developed to

the highest standards of quality and using the newest technol-

ogy. Our Loop Slide meets all EU safety requirements and has

been certified and approved by the German safety testing in-

stitute TÜV.

You can really take off with this water slide

If you‘ve ever wondered how a ski jumper feels at the moment

of launch, now you can find out for yourself. Jump in your

bathing suit and climb to the top of our ski-jump water slide,

the High Fly by Klarer. Take a deep breath as you get ready to

start, feel the tension building in your muscles as you concen-

trate on the moment of flight. You accelerate down the ramp

until you reach the take-off point – a feeling you‘ll never for-

get – followed by free flight until you land comfortably in the

FUNNEL SLIDES

The Abyss and the Bowl – funnel slides from Klarer

Klarer’s funnel slides offer flexibility and excitement. Different

sections give riders a varied sliding experience with multiple

special effects. After sliding down a steep tube slide, the rider

enters the imposing funnel cone. Depending on speed, the

slider spins around two or three times before being pulled

through the funnel base towards the exit chute where the next

tube segment carries the rider safely into the landing pool.

The funnel slides can be used as a body slide or with rafts and

offers medium or high difficulty levels. The names of the two

slides indicate their use: the Abyss, named after the classic

James Cameron film from 1989, is a body slide, while the

Bowl is used with rafts.

Offering shared experiences are an important aspect of

modern leisure activities. The Racer Slide is the only multi-

lane wide slide in Europe that gives you the choice of adding

curves and jumps. No other slide provides your guests with as

the winner’s platform! The Tube Racer is the raft racing slide

from Klarer.

Down the straight to build up speed, through fast turns and

a switchback curve – the unique layout is a thrill. Just like in a

real race, winning depends on a good start, being able to take

the pole position and hitting the curves just right. Record and

compare riders’ interval times. Use the point system to track

Whether side-by-side or hand-in-hand, sliding fun is the

priority here. This classic family slide is appropriate for al-

Back to the Roots

Modern skateboarding originated in the 1960s as thrill-seekers

attempted to translate the feeling of wave surfing onto the

streets. One of their earliest feats was pool riding, where skate-

boarders would do their tricks in empty swimming pools. When

boarders ran out of empty pools to practice in, they began build-

ing wooden ramps in the familiar half-pipe form we know today.

Our Half-Pipe slide goes directly back to these roots. It takes

nerve for the first step as you jump down the steep incline into

the Half-Pipe, but all you have to do is let the momentum carry

you down the pipe until you arrive in the landing pool. Up one

side and down the other at break-neck speed. This is pool riding

for experts.

The Half Pipe can be designed for use as a body slide or with

rafts.

Your personal river

The Varia River can be individually designed and integrated

The unrestrained power of water

Whitewater River is the luxury river rapid slide option.

Sliders experience a wild ride in a simulated whitewater river,

propelled from one rapid to the next. Tight curves, churning

whirpools and the unrelenting force of the water make the

Whitewater River seem savage and untamed. Riders catch

their breath in the relaxation pools following the downhill

ride, but only if they know how to maneuver to escape

the flow of the rapids!

Some 800 liters of water per second flow at depths between

0.20 – 1.00 m through a winding whitewater river slide.

The relaxation pools have a diameter of 5.90m and feature

built-in benches. Theses pools can also be fitted with water

massage beds and underwater lighting to be used as whirl-

pool baths.

The capacity of the Whitewater River is comparable to

a standard swimming pool, when the relaxation pool areas

are included.

The Infinity Jump is an add-on component for tube slides that

includes an integrated jumping ramp with a steep downward

slope, which is hidden from the slider’s view. An optical

illusion is installed at the upper end of the jump element and

shows the tube continuing straight ahead. The sudden drop,

located out of view, lets you experience an unexpected thrill.

Alternatives to this optical illusion include a wide range of

Feel it Hear it Touch it

If you want to create a mood, sound effects are a great way

to go. Whether a jungle expedition, an adventure on the high

seas or a trip into space, we have the right sound for your

slide.

Touchpoints are interactive, touch-activated light points

mounted in the start area or at points along the slide route.

Touchpoints can activate light, water and sound effects – or

a combination of these.

Bring added action to the sliding experience using Touch-

points in combination with a point system. Who will reach all

the sensors and get the most points? This interactive experi-

ence with scoreboard and everything you need for real fun.

Measure it

Water slides that operate at full capacity help reduce crowd-

ing in other areas of the waterpark. Increased capacity on a

water slide is achieved by encouraging guests to do multiple

runs. Timing each run is the ideal way to increase sliding

interest. A healthy spirit of competition drives guests to go

faster – maybe even clocking the fastest time of the day –

and increases overall slide use. Additionally, operators can

host race events with multiple heats, prizes, etc.

A Tropical Rain showers over the water slide, gently soaking

sliders along the way. Whether after a curve, in a dark Black

Hole or as a theming element, the Tropical Rain effect is an

unexpected pleasure.

Looking for something more intense? The action-packed

Waterfall turns calm waters into a raging river. There is no

escape, as 65 m3/h flow through the slide, carrying sliders

through the wall of water. Be sure to hold your breath!

depends on how you get started.

Waiting on the platform at a dizzying height, cooled by a light

water mist that fills the Plexiglas capsule, the countdown

quietly begins as the adrenaline surges and all you can hear

is your own heartbeat pounding. Suddenly, the trapdoor

opens beneath your feet and you are in free fall through the

Plexiglas tube, you hold your breath to feel the acceleration

in the first few seconds. This is the ultimate kick!

The system is fully automated and does not require additional

personnel for operation. The technology meets the highest

Maximum safety combined with the highest level of comfort,

The Sofa run-out offers maximum safety with the highest pos-

sible level of comfort. This run-out can be installed in-ground

The Sofa Special run-out offers a soft landing into an exist-

ing pool. The guest is carried securely from the sliding area

into the run-out pool, helping to avoid collisions in the land-

ing area. The Sofa Special run-out meets the newest safety

Safety First Tested and Approved

Basic instructions are a standard requirement for every

water slide and contain important safety information as well

as rules of conduct for users. Our safety systems encourage

guests to follow these rules.

The lights control the slide frequency of guests. A time-inter-

val light system signals green on a pre-set timer, the sensor-

activated light system opens the water slide when the guest

has passed the pre-set point along the water slide route. This

lighting system can be built into the initial slide segment or

installed as an add-on system.

The turnstile stops unwanted entry to the starting area and

meets safety requirements for high-speed water slides. The

turnstile is opened only once the guest has left the landing

pool through a second turnstile.

This video system with real-time images allows monitoring

of the start and/or landing areas. The system allows visuali-

zation and preservation of evidence in cases of illegal or

improper use of a particular water slide. CCTV systems help

to identify potentially dangerous situations and reconstruct

the sequence of events in case of an accident.

Water slides are a type of sports equipment that must be built

and operated so that the possibility of injury or other damage

to personal health is eliminated when the equipment is used

properly. Legal norms as defined in regulation EN 1069 parts

1 and 2 define safety requirements for the planning, construc-

tion and operation of water slides as well as presenting regu-

lations for their documentation and safety certification.

The safety of our guests is our highest priority. We offer a

wide variety of instructional materials and safety systems

to ensure the secure operation of the water slide. Our safety

systems have been developed to operate under extreme

conditions.

Before a water slide can be operated, it is thoroughly tested

and approved by the TÜV Technical Inspection Association

according to legal norms and safety requirements. The certi-

fication report and the operational instructions prepared by

Klarer Freizeitanlagen AG contain all important information

for a secure operation of the water slide.

Energy efficiency

Energy costs are one of the primary operating expenses for

leisure facilities. Improving energy efficiency protects the

environment and reduces costs. Thermal insulation from

Klarer collection of products can play a decisive role in

energy savings.

We offer thermal insulation systems with an insulating width

of 32mm-80mm, with or without an outer shell. The insulat-

ing material is installed on both the underside and upper por-

tion of the water slide. Lower energy costs mean installation

expenses are recovered quickly. Significant noise reduction is

another positive effect.

being one of our most important assets in the compa-

ments within the set up was when Stefan Klarer and

I met inside a Cone, checking together each part of

How did you get the idea to build AcquaworldConcorezzo and what was your reason for it? The idea was born in 2006. At that time there wasn‘t

anything like Con corezzo in Italy, whereas in the rest of

Europe similar parks had already been installed years

ago. We believed that the time had come for Italy to

also have a large indoor water park.

What was your biggest goal and challenge in planning the adventure world of Concorezzo? Our goal and challenge was to devote one zone of the

park entirely to emotional excitement and adventure

by installing a great variety of slides.

Why did you decide to remodel the Entfelden Outdoor Pool complex? The Entfelden Aquatic Center was built in 1970 and no longer

meets the requirements of today‘s guests.

Our changing areas and locker facilities are in terrible condition, so

that a complete remodeling makes more sense than a simple reno-

vation. Additionally, the large size of the space and it‘s very open

design no longer suit today‘s building standards. Adding more

equipment to our playground as well as building a water slide will

emphasize the family-friendly image of our center and increase

overall appeal.

- The water slide and the children‘s playground will be built during

the first building phase (2011/2012) as the first measures to in-

crease guest appeal.

- The changing areas and locker facilities will be remodeled in phase

two (2012/2013).

How did you find out about Klarer Freizeitanlagen AG? We were already familiar with Klarer, because they installed their

small children‘s water slide «OTTILIE» at our facility six years ago.

Why did you choose to install a Racer Slide but not a Wide Slide this time? Four years ago we launched a partnership with seven other aquat-

ic centers in the area to create a regional Swim Pass. In order to

make sure that each center retains its own individual features, we

decided to install a multi-lane «Racer Slide» as a special attrac-

tion for the whole family. One special advantage of this slide is

that multiple riders can slide simultaneously with each person in

their own lane. By adding a timing function, this slide became even

more attractive.

wWere there and memorable moments during the construction of the Racer Slide? A very special moment for our local residents in Entfelden and the

surrounding area – adults and children alike – was the installation

of the tall tower and the stairway using a «Puma» helicopter.

Where you satisfied with the planning, project development and the installation of your Racer Slide with Klarer Freizeitanlagen AG? We were generally pleased with the planning and project devel-

opment; however, looking back, you always see things that could

have been better organized and coordinated.

How has the Racer Slide been received by your guests? Our guests like the Racer Slide very much. We have registered an

increase of 15% more visitors. People have even given the slide its

own nickname – the «Speedy Duck»!
