place necessary regulations to ensure soundness of the financial market infrastructure. The assessment

forms a part of a study by global groupings of capital market and banking regulators from across the

world, which have analysed the necessary regulatory framework put in place in various markets to match

the Principles for Financial Market Infrastructure (PFMIs).

region for carving out a separate state from Andhra Pradesh. K Chandrasekhar Rao was sworn-in as first

and Hamas, a historic Palestinian unity government was sworn in, ending years of division. The signing

ceremony, which seems likely to complicate relations with the Palestinian Authority's international aid

donors in Europe and the US and increase tensions with Israel, was broadcast live in Gaza and the West

    Bank.

King Juan Carlos of Spain announced his intention to abdicate, after nearly 40 years on the throne. His

the Lok Sabha, in 2009 and again last month in the landslide general election victory of the BJP.

In a major decision fraught with financial and political implications, the Jammu and Kashmir government
