synopsisDanny Elfman and Tim Burton are responsible for some of the most famous film score collaborations of our time including Batman, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice and Alice in Wonderland. Elfman’s striking music is performed by the full might of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, a soaring choir and Elfman himself, alongside excerpts, sketches and storyboards of Burton’s strange and beautiful gothic worlds. synopsisRenowned Belgian dancemaker Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s much lauded Orbo Novo is performed by the full Cedar Lake company of dancers who navigate his trademark choreography against a formidable lattice structure. Based on a book by neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor about her own stroke, rows of dancers tumble left and right, with breathtaking solos, duets and trios showcasing this electrifying ballet company’s remarkable technique, precision and range.
