• Colombo Bourse closed lower in June 2015, with the Bench Mark All Share price Index (ASPI) declining -3% MOM meanwhile, the more liquid S&P 20 index also declined -2% MOM. Average daily turnover declined -47% MoM in June 2015, after reaching five month high on previous month. Net foreign selling were seen in Jun, following eight consecutive months of net buying. .

• Monetary Policy review for June 2015, The Central Bank of Sri Lanka decided to maintain the both key policy rates, Standing Deposit Facility Rate (SDFR) at 6% and Standing Lending Facility Rate (SLFR) at 7.5%. At the Treasury bill auction held, 12 month T-bill yield remained unchanged in 6.28% whilst 6 months and 3 month yield increased to 6.21% and 6.11% respectively.

• As measured by the change in the Colombo Consumers’ Price Index (CCPI) (2006/07=100), which is computed by the Department of Census and Statistics, declined marginally to 0.1 per cent, on a year on year basis in June. From 0.2 per cent recorded in May 2015. Annual average inflation declined from 1.9 per cent in May 2015 to 1.7 per cent in June 2015. CCPI increased by 1.0 per cent from May to June 2015. The monthly increase in CCPI was mainly caused by the increase in in food prices.
