1 DAY WILD LITCHFIELD ADVENTURE with Darwin Harbour Sunset Cruise

Our adventure begins as we leave Darwin and travel towards Litchfield National Park. Our first stop is the Magnetic and Cathedral Termite mounds, some towering up to 6m high, where your guide will explain some of the amazing facts about these unique insects. Waterfalls and crystal clear plunge pools are what

makes Litchfield such a popular destination for visitors and locals alike. We explore the stunning Florence Falls with a short monsoon forest walk to the base of the falls before we break for a picnic lunch. The afternoon is spent exploring Wangi Falls and its large plunge pool before we make our way back to Darwin. Those who have opted for the Day Tour only (PNTK1) will return to Darwin, while those who have chosen to include the Harbour Sunset Cruise (PNTK1C) will continue down to Stokes Hill Wharf. Here we will meet the Snubfin and the SeaDarwin crew who will take us out to enjoy a Harbour Cruise. Soak up a famous Top End sunset with tasty local caught fish and chips and a glass of sparkling wine or soft drink.

Day 2 Kakadu National Park It takes some 4WD action to reach Twin Falls: unwind on the sandy banks before we head on to the wonder that is Jim Jim Falls. A challenging walk to the base is rewarded with a swim or time to relax on the beautiful river beach. It's a short drive to our overnight bush camp. (BLD)

ClimateAustralia's north has a Wet Season (Nov to Mar) and a Dry Season (Apr to Oct). During ‘the Wet’ many 4WD roads and National Parks are closed, which limits where you are able to go in the north. Our Kimberley tours only operate during 'the Dry', when it can get surprisingly cold overnight, depending on where you are – in Broome it can cool down to 12ºC, while in the Bungle Bungles, it can fall as low as 5ºC! In the Top End and up the West Coast we offer some itineraries Year Round, subject to itinerary changes to allow for Wet Season weather and road conditions.

ItinerariesThe itineraries in this brochure are valid for our peak season. However they are subject to change according to local environmental conditions. Itineraries may vary and/or attractions be substituted for any cause including seasonal conditions (including the opening and closing of Twin and Jim Jim Falls and other natural attractions in Kakadu National Park), weather extremes, traditional owner and national park requirements. Note that the opening dates of waterfalls and other attractions vary each year and can change on a daily basis during the wet and shoulder seasons. For an up to date access report for the Top End please contact our office or visit kakaduroadreport.wordpress.com. Remember, Australia is a big country and some long drives are part of the adventure.

Private ChartersWild Expeditions offer independent charters on request, including trips tailored to Students, Charitable Organisations, Corporate Groups, Film Crews and Special Interest Groups. With our solid reputation, operational flexibility, and eco-friendly approach, Wild Expeditions are the Australian outback experts.

PricesTour prices in this brochure are per person and in Australian Dollars. Prices are quoted on a twinshare basis. Single supplements may apply to upgraded accommodation options.

DepartureMost of our Extended Tours are Guaranteed with only 2 travellers so look out for the Departure Guaranteed tick! Other tours depart subject to a minimum 6 travellers.

Travel InsuranceTravel insurance is essential. As we are travelling in a remote area, you should ensure you are covered for medical expenses including emergency repatriation at a minimum. We recommend that the policy also covers personal liability, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects. To you are covered in the event of unseasonal weather and conditions that may cause road and national park closures, please make sure your policy considers costs incurred by any unforeseeable tour cancellations.

Protect the EnvironmentThe outback is a pristine wilderness and we are dedicated to preserving and caring for its fragile environment. We ask travellers to bring a long sleeve shirt and broad-brimmed hat to reduce the need for sunscreen and insect repellent, which leak into waterways when showering and swimming.
