Activity CampInspiring through adventure So how does it work? For young people camp is about digging deep.Finding the courage to jump, to climb, to take a step intothe unknown. It’s learning to give and receive support.Strengthen friendships and grow.

Have the freedom to mature a little. Be more than they are inside the classroom. They’ll leave with memories of a camp that made a difference. The difference that helped develop engaged, motivated students, eager to learn.

We have a huge range of activities on land and water to choose from and we design a flexible program to meet the specific needs of your group.

Each day is packed with activities to excite, inspireand build confidence, bringing a different dimension to thelearning experience.

There are four, one-and-a-half hour sessions each day with different activities - either led by trained PGL instructors or designed for teachers to deliver their own sessions and build relationships with their students.

And after an action-packed day, we’ll even create and run an evening entertainment program guaranteed to keep you and your students engaged and happy until bedtime.

Facing change with confidence So how does it work?Changing schools is a big step that can be challenging for any child - solving problems, coping with new situations and environments and making new friends. How best to help students build the right foundations for their school career?

An orientation camp is an ideal way to encourage your year groups to bond, support each other, build trust and forge stronger relationships with each other and with you – their teacher.

Using adventure activities to stimulate learning and growth, our course is supported by trained PGL instructors who tailor the adventure sessions to meet your objectives. Our instructors facilitate discussion opportunities and a Plan-Do-Review approach helps your students to assess and understand what they’ve learnt – the connections, the insights and the impact it has on their own behaviors.

Our program is ideal for whole year groups (although can work well for single classes) and getting the new school year off to a motivating and inspiring start.

With PGL’s orientation camp, you can help your pupils cope with the challenges of change.

Bush CampA learning experience like no other So how does it work? Our unique bushwalk and camp takes place in 200 acres of stunning temperate rain forest owned and managed by PGL bordering Camp Rumbug. It’s ideal for students studying the VCE Outdoor and Environmental Studies who want to develop skills, knowledge and behaviors that promote safe and sustainable interaction with outdoor environments. It is also an opportunity for those who simply want to challenge their students to participate in a back to nature experience to develop resilience, mindfulness, independence and leadership skills.

Our new Bush Camp is a unique opportunity to challenge your students in the total immersion in a unique environment walking and camping in the bush. It takes place within PGL’s extensive land with the support of a PGL leader on your bush walk and the reassuring back up of the team at Camp Rumbug.

We will arrange and support all aspects of your journey and provide the equipment you require (tents, cooking equipment, water and food). Students will prepare camp, pitch tents both nights and prepare meals both nights. A PGL Leader will accompany you on your 3 day journey on foot through the rainforest and support you to deliver learning outcomes en route.

Minimum group size for this program is 12 students and maximum 108. Suitable for year 7 and up, this is a programme which will engage and challenge students to develop an appreciation of the environment and skills for life.

PGL camps offer all this and so much more:

Two beautiful locationsVictoria’s best-loved camp, Camp Rumbug, close to Wilsons Prom, is now part of PGL, along with Campaspe Downs on the edge of the Macedon Ranges near Kyneton. Both camps are equipped to provide the best in outdoor adventure in outstanding natural locations and run by friendly PGL teams.

More activitiesWe’ve also invested in new accommodation at Camp Rumbug and refurbishment at Campaspe Downs, plus more activities and staff to make your PGL camp experience the best there is.

Fuel for funFun is important, but so is food, so we provide three healthy, high energy meals per day, with plenty of variety and accompanied by generous portions of fruit, vegetables and salad. We always offer a veggie option and can accommodate most special diets or food allergies – just let us know at the time of booking.

Why not see for yourself? Nothing can beat being there, which is why we offer free inspection visits for group leaders. They’re a great opportunity for teachers and group leaders to find out how a PGL adventure camp can benefit their students. You can meet our staff, ask any questions you might have, check out the accommodation and facilities and try our menu. You can even have a go on some of the activities! Full board accommodation is provided for you and your family members free of charge. Just contact us to book your visit.
