Host a spring job fair to encourage employment in CISD and participate in university and local area job fairs

Coordinate the recruitment, selection, hiring, and campus placement of District pool of bilingual teachers

Provide an ethnically and racially diverse staff, and develop a pool of minority and shortage area applicants

Offer “Grow Our Own” initiative for Bilingual paras to become Bilingual teachers, Bilingual teachers to become Bilingual administrators, and Special Education shortage areas (Diagnosticians/LSSPs)

Continue to offer visits to college and university campuses to promote CISD to pre-service teachers and continue to provide informational sessions for CISD paraprofessionals interested in teaching

Redesign the HR website to provide ease of access to pertinent information and a more attractive, modern layout for prospective employees

Support cohorts with universities to develop Master of Education and Doctoral programs for professional staff members

Offer 2-day TExES ESL preparation workshop to CISD teachers seeking ESL endorsement
Provide partial reimbursement to teachers who add ESL endorsement to their teaching certificate

Provide online professional development modules to reduce the amount of time taken away from campus instruction
