    Submit ONE ORIGINAL poem to Haiku Festival 2016

    Eligible: 4th through 8th grade students (ages 8-14) Entries: One (1) poem per student, any subject Format: Three (3) typed or printed lines, 5-7-5 syllables Prizes: $100, $50, $25, $20: 3 categories; 2015: Chris Abani Essay Award; #1 Poem for each school, Certificates, Gwendolyn Brooks Award, etc. Deadline: Tuesday, 11 March 2016, 12MIDNIGHT Winners: Announced ~15 April 2016. Prize winners must attend awards ceremony at Harold Washington Library, 400 South State, Saturday 30 April 2016, 10:00 AM.
