Index A Letter from our President

Winter turns to Spring, Spring turns to Summer & then Summer turns to The Harvest Homecoming Festival!!!

I have been fortunate to enjoy all the festivals from the beginning! I have painted windows, marched in the Parade as a Boy Scout, Played in the NAHS marching band and I even saw Davy Jones of the Monkees (Twice). Now I have the Greatest honor of being Harvest Homecoming President for this year!

This years Festival sports many new things... Multiple new Local Shops and Restarants, a new Harvest Homecoming President (That’s Me!) And of course all the events, music and Food Booths that will fit in the Festival area, an Endorsement from the Indiana State Bicentenial committee! (This will be listed in the Indiana History Books for all TIMES!)

What we create is a City within the City and MANY thanks to our Mayor & City Council, Police, Firefighters and Merchants for allowing this festival to happen! This year I am pleased and allowed to choose the festival Theme and Logo/Pin design. Also many thanks to Jeff Finn Designs for making the pin come to life!

The Theme is, “Classical Harvest” based roughly on looking back to our Indiana roots, but not discounting what we can and will do in our Future! The main focus of our roots are Farming and Country Living.....Planting, Growing and Harvesting fruits and vegetables, Tractor Pulls, Car Shows and Concerts.

The Pin Design is based on sketches that depict farm living, our festival Origin, “The Pumpkin Festival” and the Indiana State Bicentenial Endorsement all of which combine to make this our festival.

Bradley H. Needham Harvest Homecoming President 2016/2017

Mission StatementHarvest Homecoming is a group of volunteers dedicated to providing a family oriented festival. It unites the community in a spirit of fellowship and is committed to continuous improvement.

Harvest Homecoming - A Local LegacyHonored by the Library of Congress Bicentennial Local Legacies Project in 2000, the Harvest Homecoming festival draws hundreds of thousands of visitors to New Albany, Indiana, and has been thriving and growing for 49 years.

The festival was conceived as a means of bringing the people of Southern Indiana together to share in its wealth of talent, historic background, and beauty.

What is now over a week of events began as a three-day “Pumpkin Festival,” a civic effort by the Tourism Bureau of the New Albany Chamber of Commerce. It is now run exclusively by Harvest Homecoming Festival Associates, Inc., a non-profit organization fully operated by volunteers and sponsors.

Thank you for participating in and your support of the 2016 Harvest Homecoming Festival.
