We were so excited to board

the school bus and get our

seat belts on. Mr Sparks

drove us to Riverside, where

Mr Reid was waiting for us.

We walked to the private

orchard, looking and listening

on the way. Sophie heard a

bird making an alarm call. She

said “I think he’s crying. I

think he’s lost his Mummy and

Daddy.” In the orchard we

used nets to sweep over the

grass. Sienna called “Look,

I’ve got a ladybird in my net.

Come and look everyone!”

Amrita and Luca found three

spiders in their nets. Zac,

Elijah, Amarjeet and Kesi

found small fruit flies in

theirs.

Next, everyone found

flowers, thistledown

and leaves to stick

on their sticky

sticks.

We walked to the

pond for pond

dipping and saw a

stickleback fish,

lots of fast water

boatmen and small larvae. We

saw a dragonfly and butterfly

too. The moorhen swam

quickly away. After lunch

everyone chose a butterfly or

snail to decorate. Then we

walked to Sharps Green Pond

and walked over the board

walk. We saw fox footprints

in the mud and tried to see

the fox in his lair. We looked

out onto the river.

We finished off in the

playground playing pirates on

the pirate ship. We went on

the dragon swing and climbed

the hill to go down the slide.

What a great day!

Mrs Saroya

On 29th September. FoBS organized a cake sale at school in aid of Macmillan

cancer support. Parents and children made and donated beautiful cakes for the

event. The year 6 children ran the cake sale at the Junior site while FoBS took

care if the infant sale. Cakes were also sold after school at the gates in Marshall

We have a very high percentage

of parents and carers who park

responsibly around the school

at pick up and drop off times.

Thank you.

Unfortunately, there still are a

few cars at drop off and pick

up times in dangerous posi-

tions despite parking

restrictions being in place.

This sort of parking places

unnecessary risks on our

children, impacts the local

residents and other road

users.

Please observe the safe parking

rules as written in the Highway

Code and respect the double

yellow lines, zig- zags and the

driveways of local residents.

After half term we will be

holding assemblies on road

safety which will include

responsible parking.

We will also be launching a

responsible parking poster

competition amongst the

children. Our local PCSO has

kindly agreed to judge the

competition and select a

winner.

Urging Safe and Responsible Parking
