Charles Mittelstadt, seminar director (At-lanta), is one of the most experienced high-profile case criminal defense investigators in the U.S. Charles has led countless investigations for impressive defense teams and famous/notorious defendants nationally, including professional athletes, celebrities, politicians and business leaders. He is routinely invited as a guest commentator/legal analyst on network and cable shows (CourtTV, Oxy-gen, Dateline NBC, HLN, CNN, InSession, Investigation Discovery) and to speak at continuing legal education, security, and investigation seminars. He continues to con-

sult with some of the largest, most successful corporations in the world on security and investigative matters. He has a degree in Criminal Justice and holds Board Certifications (CCDI – Certified Criminal Defense Investigator and CPP - Certified Protection Professional/1997-2011) in both security and investigation disciplines.

Jason Sheffield, seminar director (Decatur), is a criminal trial and appellate attorney. Jason has investi-gated, prepared, and tried cases in state and federal court-rooms across the country, including in Georgia, Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, South Carolina, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. He has argued cases in the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, and the 3rd and 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. Jason has been named by Georgia Superlawyers as one of Georgia’s Rising Stars in 2011, 2013, and 2015. Jason is a sustaining member of and the treasurer of the GACDL. He is also an adjunct professor at Emory University’s School of Law, where

he teaches a course on expert testimony. Jason teaches trial skills at the nationally acclaimed Bill Daniel Trial Advocacy Program hosted yearly by the GACDL. He is also a graduate of the National Criminal Defense College.

Keith Fitzgerald (Macon) is a successful trial lawyer who keeps his current practice focused solely on DUI defense. In an effort to provide the best defense for all of his clients, Keith keeps abreast of the changing law and emerging trends in the DUI area through constant research and study. He practices in Federal and State courts in the middle Georgia region, and can handle every type of criminal case. Keith is a 2010 graduate of Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law, where he also received the Certificate in Advanced Legal Writing, Research, and Drafting. While a law student, he clerked with a solo attorney in Macon,

where he discovered his passion for helping people. This led him directly to the field of criminal defense. Keith is a vice president of the GACDL, the Technol-ogy Committee Chairperson for the GACDL, and a proud graduate of GACDL’s Bill Daniel Trial Advocacy program.

David Wolfe (Atlanta) has always focused his practice on criminal defense and has tried cases throughout the country in the state and federal courts. He has also handled many cases of national interest in the Georgia Courts, including challenges to Georgia’s Hate Crimes and Assisted Suicide statutes, both of which were struck down by the Georgia Supreme Court as unconstitutional. Similarly, David successfully challenged the vague language of Georgia's Kidnapping statute in the Supreme Court requiring the Georgia legislature to rewrite and clarify the essential element of asportation with regard to that offense. David is also a life member

of the GACDL and a member of the board of directors. David has been an adjunct professor in the Litigation Department at Georgia State University's College of Law since January 2004 and also lectures throughout the state at CLE seminars on criminal defense, criminal litigation and criminal procedure.

Lena Jakobsson (New York, NY) is a network news producer and communication strategist with two decades’ experience at the intersection of media and the law. With a front row seat to over a hundred civil and criminal cas-es, she’s seen winning strategies unfold and losing ones make eyes glaze over, interviewed jurors and experts, and produced ratings-busting television coverage. For Court TV, Lena covered some of the most high profile court proceedings of recent years, including PA v. Jerry Sandusky, FL v. Casey Anthony, the Michael Jackson death case, and the O.J. Simp-son Las Vegas robbery snare. She led breaking news teams

at CNN, covered justice reform at Al Jazeera America, and wrote true crime docudramas for Discovery ID. She’s now leveraging her experience to tell stories of a different kind, helping individuals and organizations shape and share their brand narratives.

Jim Persinger (Atlanta), founder and CEO of PM Investigations, Inc., is a pioneer and entrepreneur in the private investigation and digital forensic industries. He has been in business as a licensed Private Investigator since 2001, is licensed in both the State of Georgia and the State of South Carolina, and is a licensed Private Investigator Instructor. Jim also operates a software development company, JB Enterprises, established in 1993. In 2008, he expanded PM Investigations, Inc. to include Silent Shield LLC, a corporation specializing in hardware and software products for law enforcement and government agencies. Jim has testified in countless venues as an expert

and conducts training seminars covering topics such as Computer Facility Security; Digital Forensics; Crime Prevention for Businesses; How to Protect Your Intellectual Property; Internet Safety, Liability and Security; Network Penetration and Applica-tion Testing; Network Security; and Training Employees to Prevent Loss and Crime.

Steve Sadow (Atlanta) is a nationally known, high-profile criminal defense attorney who has been practicing law for 35 years. He is a sole practitioner at his firm, Steven H. Sadow, P.C., and special counsel for the Atlanta-based law firm Schulten Ward & Turner, LLP, where he serves as head of the firm's white collar and high-profile criminal defense section. Steve’s criminal trial and appellate practice focuses on the following offenses: white collar, cyber/computer, fraud, tax, RICO, murder, drugs, firearms, and forfeiture. He has NEVER been a prosecutor. Several of Steve’s cases have drawn national media coverage from stations like Court TV, NBC and A&E. He obtained an

acquittal for his client Joe Sweeting, who was tried along with former NFL football star Ray Lewis for two murders that occurred during a post-2000 Super Bowl brawl in At-lanta. Steve also obtained what commentators have called a "miracle" outcome for rap/entertainment artist "TI" after he was charged with federal firearms offenses in Atlanta.

Natasha Silas (Atlanta) is a veteran staff attorney at the Federal Defender Program for the Northern District of Georgia where she is based in Atlanta. She proudly represents indigent persons accused of federal offenses, handling a variety of cases including drug cases, bank rob-beries, and racketeering offenses. Natasha became interested in pursuing a legal career as a result of bedtime stories told to her by her parents who were represented by the famous civil rights attorney C.B. King when they were arrested on a number of occasions while participating in civil rights demonstrations in Southwest Georgia. Natasha graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a BS

in Computer Science and Engineering in 1988. She is the “Techie” on GACDL’s Bill Daniel Trial Program faculty. She lectures on technology, trial skills, and federal defense for the GACDL and for the Federal Defender Program. In January of 2011, President Barack Obama nominated Natasha to fill the seat of Judge Clarence Cooper.
