Our 75-minute performance of excerpts from the ballet The Sleeping Beauty will captivate your students’ imagination. Spectacular sets, colorful costumes, dazzling choreography, and Tchaikovsky’s glorious score make this a wonderful introduction to ballet.
The Sleeping Beauty Student Matinees are for students in grades 2–6. Each interactive performance includes:
• An engaging introduction to ballet as an art form • Performances by SF Ballet dancers, accompanied by the SF Ballet Orchestra • Excerpts of the ballet The Sleeping Beauty • A behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to stage a ballet • Insights into the career of a professional ballet dancer

ALL TICKETS ONLY $10Student Matinees of The Sleeping Beauty are suggested for school groups grades 2–6, ages 7–12. Student Matinees are 75 minutes long and tickets are only $10* each.

GETTING HEREPerformances take place at the historic War Memorial Opera House at 301 Van Ness Avenue at the corner of Van Ness Avenue and Grove Street in San Francisco. Public transportation via Muni and BART is convenient, and parking is available nearby.
The Student Matinee Series is supported by the Gaia Fund of the San Francisco Ballet Endowment Foundation.

*A minimum order of 10 tickets is required to qualify for the Student Matinee price. K–12 schools and educational student groups only, please. Wheelchair locations are available; please indicate how many wheelchair accessible seats are needed when ordering. Confirmation of your order request will be sent via email. Admission maps will be sent approximately two weeks prior to the performance date. Increases to processed ticket orders will be allowed on a space-available basis only. No refunds or exchanges. To ensure a great experience for everyone, no children under age five, including babes in arms. Everyone entering the Opera House, regardless of age, must have a ticket, and children must occupy their own seat. Student Matinees are for youth audiences and school groups only. Other groups of 10 or more may purchase discounted tickets to The Sleeping Beauty by contacting our Group Sales Representative at 415 865 6785 or [email protected] for more info.
