Objectives: The main objective of the activity is to create an awareness about the drugs that we use in our daily life- Chemistry behind the drug, their therapeutic (medicinal) activity and side effects. e. A brief report and its outcome: As a part of Curie Club, students of B.Sc. III year -FnBC Section under the guidance of A.Shravya, Faculty of Department of Chemistry had conducted an activity “KNOW YOUR DRUG” which was held on 19th Sep,2020 from 4:00 pm to 5:30pm (IST) . As a part of the activity, all the students of B.Sc. III year -FnBC Section were divided into 10 groups, with each group consisting around 5 students. Each member of the group was given a task to collect a minimum of 2 or 3 different types of drugs available at home (which were consumed by them or their family members on regular basis). The students of each group held small virtual discussions/ meetings amongst themselves to finalize 5 or 6 important drugs for their final presentation. On the day of the actual presentation, one volunteer from each groups had presented the work done and the data collected by all the team members. The students and the faculty learned and discussed about the various aspects of Drugs like- The Generic Name, Common Name, Therapeutic activity, benefits, Side effects, etc of each drug. All the students and faculty participants had gained good knowledge about the drugs that we all use in our day-to-day life. Outcome: The students and teachers were enlightened about the various aspects of drugs (medicines) used in day-to-day life and all the efforts of the students were immensely appreciated by all the faculty members of Department of Chemistry and other departments. A good knowledge of both sides of the coin i.e benefits as well as the side effects of the drugs used in day-to-day life gave good information to all and created great awareness and a sense of responsibility in the participants as to how careful one need to consume a drug (medicine). All the participants had agreed finally that they would not only be careful but also would go for proper diagnosis and consultation with a doctor before consuming any drug (medicine). f.
