WELCOME FROM THE PRESIDENTS

On behalf of the Canadian Lacrosse Association and all our Member Associations, I would like to welcome the players, coaches, management, representatives, officials and fans to the 2018 Canadian Lacrosse Association Pee Wee National Box Lacrosse Championships here in Whitby, Ontario.

We are all very excited that this national championship is taking place, once again, in conjunction with the Ontario Lacrosse Festival - an event that speaks to the undeniable passion and growth of Canada’s National Summer Sport.

You, the players and teams, have worked very hard to earn your spot at this National Championship, representing your Member Association as the best of the best. Your participation in the 2018 Canadian Lacrosse Association Pee Wee National Box Lacrosse Championships marks the culmination of all the hard work and dedication that you have put into your development; you have reached an elite level that offers you the opportunity to play at the highest level of minor box lacrosse in the country. Fans, friends and family will undoubtedly witness some of Canada’s future lacrosse superstars playing during this week.

I would also like to thank the many volunteers that will make this event possible; this is sometimes lost as we focus on the actual games. Volunteers make things happen and are the key to any event’s success. The organizing committee has assembled an incredible group of individuals that will ensure a great experience for our guests.

Welcome family, friends and fans - we trust that you will enjoy yourself during the 2018 Canadian Lacrosse Association Pee Wee National Box Lacrosse Championships. Good luck to the players and teams; play safe, respect your opponent and the officials, play fair and most importantly, remember to have fun!

Yours in lacrosse,

Joey HarrisCanadian Lacrosse Association President

On behalf of the membership of the Ontario Lacrosse Association, welcome to the 2018 Pee Wee National Lacrosse Championships! For an event this size, many thanks are in order. First, thank you to our Ontario Lacrosse Festival sponsors: Brine, Booster Juice, the Canadian Lacrosse Association, Harrow, Phantom, Sport Durham and Warrior. Thank you to the staff of the Durham College Residence & Conference Centre, the Durham Hotel Association and the municipalities of Ajax, Clarington, Oshawa, Pickering and Whitby for hosting our athletes and their families during this competition. Thank you to the Ontario Lacrosse Festival Committee for organizing and overseeing the operation of this event. Thank you to each of the timekeepers, on-floor officials, team managers and non-playing event personnel and volunteers; the success of this event depends on your dedicated service to the game.

Finally, thank you and congratulations to the players and families of the participating teams. High praise and respect are due in recognition of your achievements as leaders and ambassadors of lacrosse. Your skills, attitude and commitment have earned you a spot at the highest level of competition for your age division; a truly outstanding feat which you will cherish for the rest of your career. Passion is the seed of which legends are born; the time to make your mark in the record books is upon us.

Best of luck to all participants in competition. Let the games begin!
