2018 SPRING FINANCIAL GROUP SPRING CYCLE

Sunday 14 October

The 2018 Spring Financial Group Spring Cycle, proudly presented by Bicycle NSW and Fairfax Events & Entertainment, is returning on Sunday 14 October.

Starting from St Leonards Park in North Sydney, over 8,500 riders will make their way across the Sydney Harbour Bridge to either Pyrmont or Sydney Olympic Park.

Road closures

For the safety of riders, roads along the first 10km of the course from North Sydney to Pyrmont will be closed from 4am to 11am. Access to and from properties along the course will be affected so please familiarise yourself with the closure locations and times, and plan your movements on the day in advance.

Key closures include:

• Miller St, Berry St, Arthur St and High St on-ramp to Cahill Expressway

• Lanes 3 & 6 on the Sydney Harbour Bridge

• The Cahill Expressway (lanes 7 & 8) and Circular Quay Overpass

• Western Distributor from Pyrmont to the City.

Access to the Harbour Bridge is still available via the Mount St on-ramp. Motorists should use the Sydney Harbour Tunnel for access to the Eastern Distributor or will be diverted through the city via York St while the Cahill Expressway is closed.

Special event clearways

Street parking around the start area in North Sydney will be limited as special event clearways will be in place from 3am to 11am on key roads including Miller St, Berry St and Arthur St. Check signs when parking as clearways are strict no-parking zones and apply even to local residents or RMS Mobility Scheme Parking permit holders.

If your vehicle is towed call 132 701 to find

its new location

Vehicles left in marked clearways will be towed and fined. Check signs carefully when parking the night before the event and on the day.

Watch for cyclists

From Pyrmont to Sydney Olympic Park riders will be sharing the roads with vehicles under normal traffic conditions. Motorists are reminded there will be thousands of cyclists along the course and to take extra care on the roads, especially when reversing out of driveways or turning in and out of side streets.

Cyclists on shared paths

Spring Cycle participants will use specific shared paths between Parramatta River and Western Sydney Parklands.

These shared paths will see a significant increase in usage. Please take note of the paths affected and use a different route or delay your travel along these paths where possible.
