• The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 1822
• Since 1998 RAS has been located on 30 hectares at Sydney Showground (SS) at Sydney Olympic Park
• SS was built by the NSW Government prior to the 2000 Sydney Olympics
• RAS
– Sydney Royal Easter Show – biggest ticketed event in Australia
– Sydney Showground - Sydney’s major event and exhibition precinct including Spotless Stadium
• Purpose built show facilities need renovation and our event and exhibition buildings need expansion
• The RAS is seeking to improve the yield it receives from its site to ensure this NSW Government asset can perform to its potential for the benefit of the RAS and the wider community.

Like others represented here, the RAS of NSW is a not-for-profit organisation. We are able to operate our business efficiently, however do not create income capable of supporting major site development. The Sydney Showground master plan 2030 is being prepared in order to provide opportunities for the RAS through its own resources and those of our strategic and commercial partners to invest more heavily in the support of agriculture state wide. • Government and other assistance for
agricultural, educational and community developments.
