About the RASC Conference: 14-24 October 2014 Held every two years, the conference brings

delegates from the confederation of 48 show societies across 21 countries.

In 2014, the RNA is proud to be hosting the conference and represents a terrific opportunity to showcase Brisbane, Southeast Queensland, the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) and our agricultural industry.

The conference is designed to provide delegates with:– An opportunity to engage with leading

members of Queensland’s agricultural sectors;

– Showcase its finest produce;– Reflect our diverse industry portfolio and

landscape; and – Stimulate a knowledge exchange between

societies by developing strong community relations and new lines of business which secure longevity.

Conference theme & program

The theme for the 2014 conference is based on the Sustainability of Agricultural Shows.

The conference aim is to highlight Australian agricultural innovation and practice; sustainability of royal show societies; urbanisation; and engagement of a changing market audience.

A pre-conference tour is being arranged for delegates to experience firsthand the various aspects of rural Queensland. – It is anticipated that there will be 80-100

guests who participate in this pre-conference tour.

The Next Generation (NG) The RASC has encouraged the involvement of

youth in its activities for many years and since the 2004 conference, the concept of the ‘RASC Next Generation’ was formed, and has since flourished.

The Next Generation Strategic Intentions are to:– Develop an international network and support

system that will foster the collaboration and exchange of ideas between the NG delegation

– Advocate NG leadership within the RASC and its member societies

– Support the RASC in achieving its own aims and objectives

– Achieve tangible and measurable results within the commonwealth countries
