IDHAYA COLLEGE FOR WOMEN – SARUGANI

21st GRADUATION REPORT

“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence +

Character = the Goal of True Education.”

With understandable pride, I am presenting this report for the academic year 2019-2020. God has been

protector and the fortress of Idhaya College for Women for the past 24 years.

Graduation day is a day of reflection, a day of joy and day of happiness for all who are involved in the

educational process. On this remarkable day, it is apt to present a report of the activities and

achievements of our college. I am delighted to say that, with the given wisdom and complete support of

the faculty members, our students have shown their outstanding talents in academic excellence.

HISTORY AND OBJECTIVES OF OUR INSTITUTION:

“Team work is the ability to work together towards a common vision.”

“Idhaya is an Oasis where pebbles are polished and diamonds are dimmed.”

The College runs according to the Vision and Mission of Servant of God, Rev. Fr. Louis Sevenien

Dupuis, a missionary who hailed from France to India. To uphold the dignity of women and to

emancipate them through education, he founded the “Congregation of Franciscan Sisters of the

Immaculate Heart of Mary-Pondicherry.” According to our Congregation’s dream, we sowed the

seeds of a multidisciplinary academic area called, Idhaya College for Women, Sarugani in the year

1996. With God’s grace, we have achieved a lot for the past 24 years and with a blissful heart, I feel elate

to say that we are stepping into the Silver Jubilee in the soil of Sarugani, Sivaganga District.

The Motto of our college is “Aspire to Achieve”. The main objective of the college is to produce young

women graduates, packed with valuable knowledge, perfected with character and true sense of human

values.

opportunity extended by the Institution for the benefit of the students. So we have a full time counselor,

CONCLUDING WORDS

I would like to congratulate all the Students for their privileged opportunity of studying in this great

institution. It is one of the premier Colleges in Sivaganga District, particularly serving students from the

under-privileged area. Of the millions of students in higher education studying in various Colleges, you

are honored to study in this college because here education serves as a mission. Through its various

curricular, Co-Curricular and Extension Activities, it has carved out for itself a pride of place in the

academic world.

In the words of Jean Piaget, “The goal of education is not to increase the amount of knowledge but

to create the possibilities for a child to invent and discover, to create men who are capable of doing

new things”.

Ourmotto is also echoed the same outcome of education in different words “Aspire to Achieve”. We

have a great mission ahead and it is to help our students to learn the right thing and enable them manifest

what they have learnt. This manifestation of perfection is possible if our minds and hearts are united in

marching towards the goal we have set.Let me conclude with the hope that the College will continue to

be a beacon in the realm. Let us continue our march and achieve the goal.

Thank you.
