OUR PROJECT PARTICIPANTS

5 preschool groups with children aged from 3 to 6 years

old and their teachers joined this project in October

2019 . They are the groups of „Pelėdžiukai“ (Little

owls, children 3–4 y/o), „Meškučiai“ (Little bears,

children 3–4 y/o), „Zuikučiai“ (Little hares, 4–5 y/o),

„Bitutės“ (Little bees, 5–6 y/o), „Kačiukai (Kittens, 5–6

y/o).

The parents’ participation in project activities is also

welcome and appreciated.

OUR FIRST ACTIVITIES

Since the project start, during October and November

2019 two activities were carried out in the kindergarten:

• the partner countries were introduced to children

during different activities;

• the competition of the project logo was announced

and the project logo was selected in the kindergarten.

INTRODUCTION TO THE PARTNER COUNTRIES

Children found out new things about the following countries:

Poland, Macedonia, Italy and Portugal and they were reminded

the main facts about their native country Lithuania, too.

During the classes, the kindergarteners were presented with the

flags of these countries, their capitals, national currency, the

famous people and the national costumes. Also, they were asked

to look for location of those countries on the map and on the

globe. Diverse educational activities and creativity of the

teachers contributed a lot there. A variety of means were used

during the classes: colour pencils, gouache, watercolours,

plasticine, felt-tip pens, light tables, multimedia, table of games

and others.

INTRODUCTION TO THE PARTNER COUNTRIES

In order to see distances between our country and other

countries and their location on the map, the children

performed creative tasks: they had "to travel by plane and by

boat to Macedonia, Italy and Portugal" and "to take a bus and

catch a train" when travelling in Lithuania and to

neighbouring country Poland. Other classes included more

informative activities and children were drawing, making

appliques, colouring flags and marking map outlines.

LOGO-RELATED ACTIVITIES

Children from the groups which participate in the

project, their parents and educators contributed to a

logo design. From October to the middle of November

11 logos were created and presented for the logo

competition. All logos were exhibited for two weeks in

a well seen place - on the wall in the corridor. The last

Monday of November the logo was voted by the

random chosen children and teachers. The views of the

children and the members of the jury coincided and the

logo with the most votes was selected.
