Aone-dayforumbringingtogethercreativestoshareinsightintothehottestandmostcompellingareasofinteractivedesign,productionanddistribution.Thesesessionsinspireandinformonawiderangeofthelatestadvancementsintechnologyandthefutureofdocumentaryfilmmaking.AlternateRealitiesCommission

Anannualgrantforaninteractiveorimmersiveartistorprojectteamtocreateapieceofnon-fictiondigitalstorytelling.ThecommissionisguaranteedaplaceintheAlternateRealitiesExhibitionandmaybeincludedontheAlternateRealitiesTour(s).

1. SUBMISSIONGUIDELINES

ByapplyingandparticipatingyouagreetounconditionalacceptanceoftheseTermsandConditions.TheorganisersreservetherighttochangetheTermsandConditionsorprocessesatanytime.

• Feelfreetomakemultiplesubmissions.Eachrequireaseparateapplicationform

andsubmissionfee;

• ForEarlySubmissions,projectcreatorsareeligibletosubmitprojectscompletedafter1June2018andbefore31November2018;

• ForStandardandLateSubmissions,projectcreatorsareeligibletosubmitprojects

completedafter31November2018;

• ProjectspreviouslysubmittedtoDoc/Festareeligible,eveniftheprojecthaschangedsignificantlysincethelasttimeithasbeensubmitted;

• Thereisnolimittothenumberofprojectsthatcanbesubmitted

byanyoneindividual/organisation,thoughoneformmustbecompletedperentry;

• Duetothevolumeofentriesreceived,Doc/Festcannotofferfeedbackorindividual

commentsforprojectsnotincludedintheprogramme.

• Itisthesoleresponsibilityoftheapplicanttosecureclearancefromthecopyrightholdersofanycopyrightedmaterialsincludedwithinthesubmittedprojects.Doc/Festwillnotbeheldresponsiblefortheunauthorisedinclusionofanycopyrightedmaterialswithinorrelatedtothesubmittedprojects;

• Doc/Festreservestherighttodisqualifyanyprojectwithanyunauthorisedinclusionorcopyrightedmaterials;

● IfyouareabusinessbasedinanEUcountry,thisisareversechargesupplyand

youdonotneedtopayUKVAT;

● IfyouareabusinessbasedoutsidetheEU,youdonotneedtopayUKVAT;howeveryoumayberequiredtoaccountforlocalVATinyourowncountry.

5.SELECTIONPROCESSPleasenotethatallsubmittedinteractive&virtualrealityprojectswillbeviewedbymembersoftheDoc/FestAlternateRealitiesProgrammeteam.Yourprojectmaybeviewedbyseveralmembersoftheprogrammingteambeforeadecisionismade.ProjectsareselectedbytheAlternateRealitiesCurator&ExecutiveProducer,inconjunctionwiththeAlternateRealitiesprogrammeteam.Theprimarycontactlistedinyoursubmissionformwillbecontactedaboutthestatusofyourentryby1May2019.

6.COMPETITIONSSheffieldDoc/Festhonoursthebestofourprogrammewith3awards.Allprojectsselectedfortheofficialprogrammeareconsideredforawards.

AlternateRealitiesInteractiveAwardAn international jury of film and interactive media industry experts award the prize to theproject that exhibits originality in its approach to form, storytelling and delivery. SheffieldDoc/Festisdedicatedtorecognisingnewplatformsforinteractivestorytelling.

Weacceptprojectsthatpresentalivedirectorindirectviewofaphysical,real-worldenvironmentwhoseelementsareaugmented(orsupplemented)bycomputer-generatedsensoryinputsuchassound,video,graphicsorGPSdata.
