2019 HSC ExcellenceATARS
According to the information we have received, at least 42% of the cohort achieved an ATAR above 90.
Tertiary Studies
There are a variety of ways that students gain entry to courses due to the following recent changes:
1. A number of private providers have become institutes that are accredited to offer Degree Courses. Some are affiliated with universities, some are not.
2. Many students were offered entry to universities and interviews prior to sitting for the HSC, based on their academic record and extra curricular activities. Some students received multiple offers before the main round.
3. Some of our girls are fortunate to be able to add adjustment factors to their selection rank because they live within a certain distance of some universities. Universities have a ceiling of 5-10 adjustment factors for all categories of additional points.
a. Danebank students are offered 3 - 5 adjustment factors if they apply to some specific universities.
b. Adjustment factors are offered at many universities for students achieving Bands 5 or 6 in subjects relevant to their chosen degree (in some cases Band 4 results can be included).
c. Some universities offer adjustment factors for high level Music and Drama qualifications and for state and national representation in sports. Applicants to UNSW EAPL (Elite Athletes, Performers and Leaders) also receive 2 adjustment factors for Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award and 3 adjustment factors for Queen’s Guide/Scout.
d. Students who have experienced long-term difficult circumstances e.g. illness/family issues are eligible to apply for an Educational Access Scheme and may receive up to 10 adjustment factors.
4. Being eligible to study a course does not mean the student will take that offer.
5. Tertiary offers are no longer published in the newspapers, so while we are aware of tertiary offers to date, we do not know which they have accepted.
