TRANSCRIPT
Thank you to those members that were due in September and that renewed their dues. We did lose two members, but we did gain 2 new mem-bers. I want to welcome Jeff Ca-rino and Susan Allard to our group. Please make them feel welcome when you see them at our events. Finally, the Ohio JCI Senate is in its 54th year and that is because of the continued support of its members. Par-ticipation is expressed in many ways; physically at-tending our events, commu-nications between senators, and finally, financially. It is important that we have as much financial participation from our 339 members as possible. Currently 69 of our members support us financially by pay-ing annual dues of $25. It was unfortunate that we had to raise the annual dues this year, but we kept it to a $5 increase and we are one of the states in the nation with this low dues amount. Does it cover everything need for our budget, no! So we must run annual fundrais-ers to help balance the budg-et and we rely on ALL of our members for participation. In the past, the Wetzel Beer Sales was the fundraiser that provided the monies needed for the budget. That project is no longer and now every President must come up with an annual fundraiser. Hello Ohio Senators! By the time you are reading this we will have been through the first quarter of the year and a busy one it was. We ended our 2020-2021 year in Virginia Beach at the National Convention. A good time was had by all. We then began the 2021-2022 with the “Summer Tour”: -The 41st Ohio Pig Roast and 21st Ron Robinson Memorial Golf Tournament -The Illinois JCI Senate Pic-nic in Springfield Illinois. -The Kentucky Bourbon Bash in Bardstown Ken-tucky. -The Indiana JCI Senate Picnic in Portage Indiana. We also had a great time visiting the Ottawa -Glandorf Jaycees at a meeting and ‘Rockin’ at the Rex; met with the executive board of JCI Ohio; attended the JCI MAI event hosted by JCI Ohio; and finally visited the Beer Fest hosted by the Kent Jay-cees. Seventeen members from the Ohio JCI Senate attend-ed the Fall Boards that were held in Wichita Kansas. I want to thank Jenny and Jon Bruner and their commit-tee for another successful Pig Roast. We had approxi-mately 75 to 80 in attend-ance and as always the food was great. Thank you to everyone who attended. Next year will be Jon and Jenny’s last year chairing the event. We are looking for new chairpersons. If you are
interested please let us know. We would like for the new chairpersons to work with Jon and Jenny next year to learn the ropes. We raised $691.85 for the Morgan Jones Scholarship and want to thank everyone who donated. We are still looking for more donations to reach our $1000 budget. Thank you to Bruce Geddes, the chairperson, the many donors and golfers in raising $6728 for the Ron Robinson Memorial Golf Tournament. Thank you to Mother Nature who made this the best golf tournament that was never played. As you can see we are doing everything we can to meet and work with the Ohio Jay-cees. I have made a vow to try to meet with each of the Ohio chapters that are still meeting. I have found in the visits that I have made so far, there are a great group of people in these chapters and they are excited that we are making the efforts to come see them and work with them. I encourage each of you if you have the oppor-tunity please reach out to a chapter near you. Remem-ber if you work with the Jay-cees; turn your information into Jean Geddes our Return the Favor chairperson. The November All State is right around the corner and will be held November 12 and 13th at the Holiday Inn Dayton/Fairborn, 2800 Presi-dential Drive, Fairborn Ohio 45324. We hope to see you there.

Welcome to the 2021-22 Ohio JCI Senate year!
We’ve had a busy sum-mer, starting off with the US JCI Year End meet-ing in Virginia Beach, VA, in June. It was a great week. Congratulations to Ron Kimmet for winning the Tom Stone Outstand-ing State Treasurer of the Year! Congratulations also to the following US JCI Foundations level achievements: Ruby Weymouth– Membership, Marilyn Jones– Gold Sta-tus, and a Named Schol-arship to Gary Richey #47047
In July there was the 1st Anniversary of the 40th Anniversary of the OHJCI
Pig Roast, and August we attended the Indiana Picnic.
September found us in Wichita, KS for the US JCI Fall Boards. The OHJCI Senate received the #3 Presidential Sweepstakes seller for the 1st quarter, IL took #1 and Region V was #1. Amanda Turner and my-self became members of the US JCI Foundation and Stu O’Hara received his Platinum Level recog-nition.
Stepping up to be Pro-gram Managers for the Year are: Return the Fa-vor –Jean Geddes and First Timers/Freshman Senators– Janice Carino. We’ve also finalized the Ohio JCI Senate bro-

2021 Ron Robinson Memorial I would like to thank all the golfers who registered and our sponsors for their generosity. While we could not play due to three days of rain making the course unplayable, the foundation netted $6728 due to everyone’s donations. Hello Fellow Senators! Another suc-
cessful pig roast and summer tour has come to an end. It was so nice having everything almost back to normal. Just to make everyone aware there have been a few changes in the cost of membership. Unfortunately, as the Na-tional dues continues to rise, we are forced to keep up therefore yearly dues have increased to $25 and a life member-
ship has increased to $250. If you are not a life member please consider it.
