The candidate’s response shows a sound knowledge and clear understanding of the concepts and

principles covered in the curriculum. He/she demonstrates an ability to solve problems

involving unfamiliar situations (e.g. Paper 1 Q.5(a)(ii) and Q.8(a)(iv)). Many of the questions

involving calculations (e.g. Paper 1 Q.1(a)(b) and Q.8(a)(i)(ii)) are well attempted. His/her

answers to questions that require explanations (Paper 1 Q.1(c)(d)) show a logical presentation of

ideas.
