Monsanto's Commitment to Safety Safety is a core value at Monsanto. The safety of our products, people, and communities has been, and always

will be, a top priority.

Technology and Product Safety Biotechnology and crop protection products are some of the most studied products in the world. As consumers

ourselves, Monsanto employees are committed to developing products that contribute to safe and nutritious food choices for all consumers-including our own families and friends. We place the highest priority on the safety of our products, conducting comprehensive product testing and implementing quality control and stewardship

programs to support this commitment to safety. Hundreds of scientists at regulatory agencies around the world have confirmed the safety of our products.

A critical step in ensuring the safety of our products is transparency. We publish standard product safety summaries, links to submissions made to regulatory agencies, and a collection of assessments from those agencies and third parties. Since the year 2000, we've also authored more than i,ooo scientific publications on the safety and benefits of our products. We strongly encourage consumers to perform their own research and consult a variety of sources to reach conclusions.

Monsanto Company Safety Efforts

Workplace Safety Our employees are our greatest assets; their health and safety are our highest priority. We've invested in several world-class health, safety, and wellness initiatives. All of our employees are trained in on-the-job safety and health issues, and we encourage participation in workplace safety committees, first aid courses, and behind-the­ wheel driver training. We are also committed to helping farmers and their families stay safe. Our informational video series, Grqv..Ting Safely, addresses high-risk safety issues such as ATVs, grain bins, and child safety on the farm.

Community Safety Part of om corporate responsibility is to help create safer environments for everyone. Through community events and social media outreach, we have shared important safety messages with more than 7 million people

globally. We frequently educate communities on the following topics:

• Home electrical and fire safety, and home emergency preparedness

• On-the-road emergency preparedness, driving in inclement weather, and new drivers

• First-line support for emergencies in rural communities
