1. SCOPE OF WORK

Except as otherwise expressly provided herein, Seller shall supply all adequate and competent labor, supervision, administration, management, services, tools, equipment, warehousing, installed and consumable materials, testing devices, and each and every item of expense necessary for performing operations required to detail, supply, and fabricate, and all resource planning, receiving, handling, packing, and loading, as well as testing, evaluation, and quality control for the prescribed portion of structural and miscellaneous steel supply for the Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde, S.A.A. Cerro Verde Production Unit Expansion herein called the Work.

2. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

2.1 General

A. Seller shall perform the Work in a timely and workmanlike manner to industry professional standards in accordance with sound construction practices and local, state, and federal laws, orders, codes, and regulations applicable to the Work.

B. All articles defining the Work to be performed by Seller are presented for the purpose of clarifying the Work, but shall not constitute a complete list of the Work, nor limit the Work, nor guarantee the Work.

C. The steelwork supply described herein as prescribed in Unit Rate Schedules. Bidders to provide corresponding prices and unit rates.

D. Bidder shall indicate clearly any and all implications with respect to prices, delivery and unit rates if PO packages or portions of a Package are removed or added to the total number of Packages submitted in the bid.

E. Bidder shall indicate clearly any and all implications with respect to prices, delivery and unit rates if there are schedule delays to any packages or portions of a Package in the bid.

F. See Attachment 5 for description and Steel Quantity Estimates.

G. Bidder shall verify capability to perform and assume responsibility for engineering design and detailing of connections.

H. Bidder shall indicate method and software to be used for connection engineering design and detailing. Names and capacities of detailing subcontractors shall be submitted, if the work is not to be detailed in-house by the Bidder.

I. Sequencing of steelwork fabrication and delivery shall be coordinated with the Buyer. Steel shall be delivered in erectable packages, from the ground up, including fall arrest devices, stairs, platforms and handrails to facilitate construction progress.

2. Representative complexity drawings have been included to define complexity of steelwork for typical buildings and structures. Actual engineering drawings may vary.

C. The Seller shall review all documents and ascertain that he fully understands the extent and complexity of the scope of work of these packages.

3.2 Structural Steel Quantities

Refer to Attachment 5.

3.3 Scope of Services

A. Supply of all structural steel shapes, bars, plates, pins, connections etc. necessary to fabricate the steelwork as described in the drawings and specifications

B. Preparation of all erection and shop detail drawings necessary for the fabrication of the steelwork




C. Preparing, priming and painting of all steelwork as noted

D. Packaging and loading all steelwork and attachments

E. Supply the necessary touch-up primer and paint for site use

3.4 Exclusions from Scope of Work

The following works shall be excluded from the Contractors Scope of Work:

A. Off-loading of the steelwork at site

B. Erection of the steelwork at site

C. Touch-up painting of the erected steelwork

D. Steel embedded in concrete

4. MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT FURNISHED BY COMPANY AND CONTRACTOR

Not Applicable.

5. QUANTITIES

5.1 Unit Rates

A. Prices shall be submitted on a unit rate basis as indicated on the attached Unit Rates Schedules (Attachments 2 and 3).

B. Unit rates shall remain effective and unchanged for the duration of the overall work and are independent of changes in the following:

1. Complexity

a. Actual types of structures and final choice of structural components may result in variances from categories and representative building/structure types submitted with the bid, but are adequate to establish fixed unit rate.

b. Distribution and available selection of weight ranges in unit rate categories are adequate to account for variance in complexity and weight between sections of varied unit weight within a category.

2. Quantities

a. Final quantities and distribution of quantities amongst categories and structures may vary from those indicated in the unit rates list, milestones and other documents issued to date.

b. Awarded and final quantities may increase or decrease by +/- 20 percent from the bid quantities.

c. Portions of the work may, at the discretion of the Buyer, with prior written notice to the Seller, be awarded to another supplier.

3. Schedule

Final milestone dates, IFC and RAS, for portions of the work may vary from those indicated.




C. Unit rates shall identify for each category the following activities:

1. Connection allowance (unique to each category)

2. Detailing (including connection engineering design)

3. Supply

4. Fabrication

5. Surface preparation and painting

D. The bidder shall clearly indicate any and all implications with respect to unit rates and/or schedule resulting from removal of detailing from the scope of work.

E. Submittals for Bid

1. Prices shall be submitted on a unit rate basis as indicated on the attached Unit Rates Schedules (Attachments 2 and 3).

2. Unit rates shall be provided for each category, regardless of indicated quantity (even for zero quantity).

3. The bidder shall submit unit rates in compliance with the categories indicated.

4. Quantities indicated include connection allowance, end plates, clip angles, gusset plates, stiffeners, doublers, welds, and shop bolts etc. required for field and shop connections.

5. Bidder shall advise the Buyer prior to submittal of bid of variance from categories per the Unit Rates Schedules.

6. Any variance from or additions to the standard Unit Rates List shall be submitted in the same format as the attachments.

5.2 Quantities

A. Final quantities and distribution amongst categories and structures may vary from those indicated.

B. Refer to Attachment 5 for estimated quantities.

5.3 Revisions, Additions and Deletions

A. Changes to structural and miscellaneous steel after initial issue of engineering drawings for construction are likely.

B. Separate prices on a unit rate basis shall be provided in each category included in the Unit Rate Schedules for material additions and deletions.

1. Material Additions

a. Members or sections added to engineering drawings (based on unit rate weight).

b. Additional materials for end plates, clip angles, gusset plates, stiffeners, doublers, welds, shop bolts and field bolts shall not be considered as additions for the purposes of calculating prices.

2. Material Deletions

Credit for members or sections deleted from engineering drawings (based on unit rate weight).

3. The format for additions and deletions shall be the same as the Unit Rates Schedules.




C. An hourly rate for detailing of additions and deletions shall be submitted by the bidder.

5.4 Substitutions

Bid prices shall be prepared on the basis of materials identified by the project specifications.

A. Bidder shall provide statement of compliance with all material requirements.

B. Any deviation from specified materials, sections, products, practices or methods shall be clearly stated and qualified in the bid.

6. SCHEDULE

6.1 Milestones

A. Refer to Attachment 4 for current schedule milestones.

B. Engineering drawings IFC dates are planned as issuance 16 weeks prior to RTS dates. Bidder to confirm if the IFC dates can be delayed or advanced based on Fabrication and Delivery capacities.

C. Confirm with Buyer the requirement of IFP (Mill Order).

D. Final milestone dates may vary from those indicated.

E. The bidder shall clearly indicate in the bid any and all implications with respect to unit rates resulting from a change, either advancement or delay, in milestone dates.

6.2 Submittals for Bid

A. Schedule shall be submitted in bar chart form identifying milestones and durations including as a minimum, but not necessarily limited to, the following:

1. PO award

2. Quantity take-offs

3. Mill order (bidder to identify if required)

4. Material supply

5. Connection design

6. Detailing

7. Review of shop drawings by Buyer (2 weeks)

8. Cutting

9. Fabrication

10. Painting

11. Pre-assembly

12. Preparation for shipping

13. Shipping

14. PO Closure

B. Schedule shall be reviewed and re-submitted in the same format prior to award.




6.3 Available Production Capacity

The bidder shall provide sufficient information to confirm ability and availability to perform the Work, including but not limited to the following:

A. Shop capacity

B. Proven sustained (over a minimum 6 months) monthly shop production capacity

C. Production capacity available to the Buyer by month for the period from February 2013 to June 2014

Steel grade is either A992 or A36 per project specifications, unless noted otherwise. CLASSES 43 THRU 46 SHOP REWORK - Labor for shop rework shall be at the unit rates listed in line items

43, 44 and shall apply to all contract steel pay classes. Material for shop rework shall be chargeable at the unit prices in the respective pay classes for fabrication. Invoices for shop rework shall be submitted separately by release and shall include supporting documentation, to include reasons for rework, records of Buyer's directives causing such rework, time cards, status of work at time of receipt of change directive, and pertinent drawings.

SHOP REWORK is defined as additional work performed in the Seller's shop required as a result of revisions at Buyer's direction, to completed or partially completed work. Unit prices for shop rework include all overhead and supervision required to revise completed or partially completed fabrication.
