After being a stay at home mom for many years, Sue returned to work as a bookkeeper for several small businesses and a couple of local parishes. She was hired on at Holy Family Parish last year and recent-ly added the school to her assigned tasks. Holy Family is so blessed to have Sue as a member of our staff.

Gospel Reflection 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time— Luke 16:19-31

Last week Jesus reminded us about using money. This week Jesus tells a parable about a rich man who passes a beggar named Lazarus every day but gives him nothing. When they die, the beggar is rewarded, but the rich man suffers for neglecting the needs of those around him.

What was the poor man’s name? What was the rich man’s

name? Why do you think Jesus gave the poor man a name?

Are there other ways people can be “hungry” besides

hungry for food?

OUTREACH & SOCIAL JUSTICE

As part of the celebration of

St. Vincent de Paul’s 150th

anniversary this year, the Port-

land Council is hosting a Cli-

ent Appreciation Day for those

who have received food, utility

land area parish conferences.

The council’s Board is asking

each conference to collect

children and young adult win-

ter clothing (coats, scarves, gloves, boots, etc.) to give out at

this event. If you have any items that are clean and in good

condition that you would like to donate, please

bring them to the parish office or place in the

SVDP barrel in the church vestibule any day

through October 5th. Holy Family’s SVDP lead-

ership team thanks you in advance for your
