PASTOR’S MESSAGE 3 ASSOCIATE PASTOR’S MESSAGE 3
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
A big Thank You to the follow-ing who made soup for the soup suppers durjng Lent: August & Marlene Goettl, Dan Moore,
Isabel Sehe, Leo Roth, and Linda Zumwalde. They were all wonderful. Thanks also to the ladies who came and set up before the Stations of the Cross each Sunday; Jan Cole, Judy Kraft, Dorothy Queen, and Nettie Winiarski, and thanks also to all who brought goodies to satisfy our sweet tooth. Again, thanks to everyone who stayed and helped clean up after all were satisfied, including the youth.
Divine Mercy Sunday
Today, Sunday, there will be a Holy Hour for the Divine Mercy Devotion from 2:30 to 3:30 pm. The sacrament of confession will be offered during the Holy Hour. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain com-plete forgiveness of sins and punishment.
e continue this Easter season with the Second Sunday of Easter or Divine Mercy Sunday. As a liturgical season, Easter lasts fifty days and ends on Pentecost Sunday. Taken together with the Easter Triduum (Holy Thurs-day, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday), this time of year compresses so
much our faith into a short span of fifty-three days: the institution of the Most Holy Eu-charist and the priesthood, Christ’s death on the Cross, the Resurrection of our Lord, Je-sus’ ascension into heaven, and the out pouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.
Today is Divine Mercy Sunday. Our Lord appeared to a Polish sister, St. Maria Faustina Kowalska of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy, in the 1920’s and 1930’s. In these apparitions, our Lord asked that a feast in honor of His mercy be established. It took many years but on April 30, 2000, Pope St. John Paul II canonized St. Faustina and stated that “the Second Sunday of Easter from now on throughout the Church will be called ‘Divine Mercy Sunday.’” St. Faustina kept a diary in which she recorded Jesus’ words to her. I will conclude with a few things Jesus said:
Before I come as the Just Judge, I am coming first as the King of Mercy (Diary 83).
The flames of mercy are burning Me—clamoring to be spent; I want to keep pouring them out upon souls; souls just don’t want to believe My goodness (Diary 177).
The two rays denote Blood and Water. The pale ray stands for the Water which makes souls righteous. The red ray stands for the Blood which is the life of souls. . . These two rays issued forth from the very depths of My tender mercy when My agonized Heart was opened by a lance on the Cross. These rays shield souls from the wrath of My Father. Happy is the one who will dwell in their shelter, for the just hand of God shall not lay hold of him. I desire that first Sunday after Easter be the Feast of Mercy (Diary 299).
Whoever approaches the Fount of Life on this day will be granted complete remission of sins and punishment (Diary 300).
I am offering people a vessel with which they are to keep coming for graces to the fountain of mercy. That vessel is this image with the signature: “Jesus, I trust in You.” (Diary 327)
My Heart overflows with great mercy for souls, and especially for poor sinners. If only they could understand that I am the best of Fathers to them and that it is for them that the Blood and Water flowed from My Heart as from a fount overflowing with mercy. For them I dwell in the tabernacle as King of Mercy. I desire to be-stow My graces upon souls, but they do not want to accept them (Diary 36).

Minister Schedule for April 18-19 2015

For Graduating High School Students and Their Parents
Students, stay Connected with your Catholic Faith when you go off to College. The NEWMAN CONNECTION High School Outreach Program helps you connect with your local Catholic College Campus Ministry. When students are entered into the NEWMAN CONNECTION database, their information will automatically be sent to the local Catholic Campus Ministry (Newman Center or local Catholic Parish’s college youth group when there is not a Newman Center on Campus). The Campus Minis-ter can then contact the student to invite them to their activities on Campus. The NEWMAN CONNECTION has been a great help in keeping our students connected to their Catholic Faith during their College years. If you are a graduating High School Student or parent thereof, please stay connected to your Catholic campus ministry by contacting Frank Brandt at 507-327-8889 or [email protected] with the student’s name and choice of College /University (with location) that they will be attending this fall.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inher-itance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serv-
ing. (Colossians 3: 23-14)

Misericordiosisimo Jesús, y acudir confiadamente a
El en todos nuestras necesidades.
2. Llevar una vida cristiana.
3. Practicar las obras de misericordia, tanto espirituales
como corporales.
