sight of J.R. and Barbie. Recognizes Raif and knows whatsgoing down. J.R. glances up and sees her. He can tell byher expression that she disapproves. She turns and headsback into the club.

Raif hands a handful of PINK PILLS to Barbie. She looks atJ.R. with an expression that say, Well go ahead, pay him.J.R. forks over the CASH. Barbie and Raif smile. J.R.looks down the hall at Gracie until she disappears into thecrowd.

Jeni and the frat boy are on the bed going at it hot andheavy. Her hand is in his pants, stroking him. He GROANS.She gets off the bed and begins undressing for him. Hereaches out and caresses her small, firm breasts throughher bra.

Dallas Morales rolls his eyes good-naturedly. Outside,Gale gets in the back seat of the sedan and it drives away.Billy steps onboard the bus.

Laughter rocks the bus. Billy is about to crack wise butjust grins and shakes his head instead.

INT. CHARTER JET NIGHT

Gale sits at the front of the plane as players file onboard. She gives each of them a smile and an Atta boy.

EXT. SKY NIGHT

The charter jet banks left, leaving Los Angeles behind.

EXT. W HOTEL NIGHT

A taxi stops at the hotel entrance. Billy climbs out withhis overnight bag, goes inside the hotel.

INT. RICHARD & VALERIES BEDROOM NIGHT

Richard and Valerie are in bed, kissing as a prelude tomaking love. She nibbles his neck. He responds, liking itthen

He puts the jeep in gear and pulls off as iPhone hobbles tothe apartment entrance. Suzy Johnson opens the door.

INT. ACHILLES & PORTIAS APARTMENT NIGHT

Achilles enters the dark apartment. He puts his travel bagdown and right away notices the folded BLANKET and PILLOWon the sofa. He sighs his disappointment. He crosses tothe bathroom, notices that the bedroom door is open.

He goes to the bedroom, looks inside. The bed is made. Nosign of Portia. He quickly goes to the bathroom. Shesnot home. Achilles looks at his watch: 2:20 a.m. He looksat the sofa again and a slow burn begins inside of him.

He pulls out his cell phone. Hits speed dial. It RINGS.

PORTIA (V.O.)Hi, this is Portia. At the tone youknow what to do.

Beep. Achilles hangs up. He stares at the phone in hishand. His face tightens, eyes narrow. Hes squeezing thephone hard. It buckles in his hand and he flings it intothe wall, where it shatters.

INT. HOTEL BATHROOM DAY

Billy showers. He finishes, steps out of the shower.Shaves.

INT. HOTEL ROOM DAY

Billy comes out of the bathroom. Crosses the darkened roomto his travel bag on a chair next to the dresser. Pullsout jeans and a polo shirt and puts them on.

I dont like you leaving my bed to seeanother woman.

Billy looks into the mirror at Gabrielle Woods, who islying in bed.

BILLY(smiles)

Technically, its not your bed and theother woman has about as muchinterest in me as a nun.

GABRIELLEThat nun is the mother of your oldestson, and Im pretty sure she didnt gethim by Immaculate Conception.

He goes to the bed. She sits up and they kiss.

BILLYCecilia and I will have breakfast,

well talk about Dallas for an hour orso. Then you and I can meet for a biteat that place you like in Santa Monicabefore we head to the airport.

GABRIELLE(reticent)

Alright.

BILLYWhat is it? Whats the matter?

GABRIELLEYou wouldnt understand.

GABRIELLEWhen you found out about Dallas, you

Portia enters. She sees Achilles travel bag where he leftit. And the blanket and pillow are where she left them.The only thing different is the dent in the wall where hiscell phone hit and the pieces of whats left of the phoneon the floor.

Achilles steps out of the bathroom, towel around his waist.

ACHILLES(not meaning it)

Good morning.

PORTIAMorning. I see youre getting readyfor church. Ill just be a minute.

ACHILLESIm not going to church. Ever.

She pauses, knows hes trying to get a rise out of her.

PORTIAOkay.

He goes into the bedroom.

PORTIA(to bedroom)

Did you eat? I can make you something.

ACHILLES (O.S.)(from bedroom)

Not hungry.

PORTIAOkay.

He comes out dressed in jeans and a sweatshirt. Sits on

the sofa to tie his shoes.

PORTIALee

His look stops her.

ACHILLESYou dont owe me any explanations. You

want to get back at me for screwingaround when you werent here. Fine.

He opens the apartment door.

He leaves and closes the door. OFF Portias emotion...

INT. FOUR SEASONS DAY

Billy is drinking a cup of coffee. He looks up and smilesat Cecilia Morales, who is crossing to his table. Sheslovely. Billy stands to greet her.

BILLYCecilia.

CECILIA(kisses his cheek)

Billy. Its so nice of you to meetlike this.

They sit.

BILLYIts my pleasure. You look great.

CECILIAThank you. And you won a great game

as they file in before services begin. Though taller andwhite, Kyndall has altered her appearance to lookremarkably similar to Portia, who is her idol.

ANGLE ON photos and memorabilia of a young Dallas: riding abicycle for the first time, playing little league baseball,boxing, his First Communion, trophies and medals, etc.Billy is standing in front of a bureau, glimpsing snippetsof his eldest sons childhood. With Dallas in almost everyphoto is EDGAR MORALES dark, handsome, built like a

welterweight.

Cecilia comes from the kitchen with two cups of coffee.Hands one to Billy.

BILLYThanks.

CECILIAYoure welcome. You sure you have timefor this, Billy? You said somethingabout having a meeting before yourflight back.

(looks at photos again)He had a good childhood, didnt he?

CECILIAEddie saved Dallas from the gangs. Heliterally had to knock sense into him.When Dallas was 17, Eddie challengedhim to a boxing match. If Dallas won,he could do whatever he wanted stay,go, whatever. But if Eddie won, Dallas

would leave the gang, go to juniorcollege and not come back home untilhed made something of himself...It wasthe hardest thing Ive ever had to

watch, seeing the man I love beat thecrap out of my Guillermo. But Eddieinsisted that I be there. He knewDallas wouldnt go back on his word ifI were there. I think thats whenDallas decided that making something ofhimself meant more than making aliving, but doing something that would

make his father proud.

He hears her, looks at the bedroom the door is open then he looks up at the ceiling again.

He doesnt react. Just stares up.
