KUWAIT: Hassan Al-Majed from Al-Ruaya School won the first prize for the 6-9 category. He is eight-years-old and loves art and par-ticipated with great enthusiasm. “I don’t expect to win, I just want to participate,” he said through his mother Mariam Al-Failakawi. “I was surprised to hear my name. I am very happy,” he said.
Hassan won a gift from the Australian Embassy which he has been dreaming of. “He has been insisting us to buy him the Play Station. I don’t give what he demands for easily to teach him the importance of patience. That is what my policy is, to get things on their own merit,” said Mariam. Mariam is an art collector herself.
