* The name of the project was driven from the # of books in the Old Testament &

New Testament.

39:27 covers 8 among many themes that can be drawn from the Scripture through

design. Every theme contained in each work is uniquely processed and manipulated to convey its symbolism. Each piece contains

passages directly quoted from the Scripture, for the context and background information. In this particular project, both the thought and physical processes behind the project

were pivotal - the purpose of this catalog is to introduce the project as well as present

the steps taken to reach its completion.

FROM THE DESIGNER

This project required “hands-on” process in order to physically and metaphorically convey its message.

Scripture is full of illustrations, metaphors, and symbolisms; to me, that called for experimentation and

much toil. My goal for the project was to beautifully and accurately mold forms of type in order to portray the meaning behind each word. I selected 8 theme

words and a few passages for each to design a series of posters and postcards. I used a unique technique and

minimal digital power for each word, which resulted in 8 distinctive aesthetics. While the overall outcome is minimalistic, the process was rather complex and

sometimes messy. The whole undertaking was quite a journey, stimulating yet reflective. As a designer, this was an opportunity for me to push my creativity into an uncomfortable realm and also flourish. This was

undoubtedly a risk, but I can say that I’ve overcome the fear of failure by actively diving into the unknown.
