Greetings and hope all of you are working safe !
For the past one year +, I stopped all my business trips andaccustomed to the Online mode of supporting the clients.
Last month, I was supposed to travel to meet the demand of aclient and flew to client's place.
While discussing about the present business scenario in the world(in particular in India ), there were some questions posed to me onwhat will be the future for the aspirants in the industry.
The lessons from the Pandemic are huge for us. The entire thinkingprocess in most of the professions underwent a big change.Which will be the deciding factors for most of us, for the next2 decades ?
In my opinion, 1. Mental well-being 2. Physical well-being and the3. Learning & adopting the new skills.
I mean these 3 factors will decide our success and the order isalso convincing to me ! You may also think please !
Stay safe & God bless all !

on Design FMEA workshop
AVM's incredible knowledge & googlyquestions on Design FMEA forced us to
think !
In the Final test, I was the first to score100 % in the past 13 years of his Design
FMEA workshop !
It was great to learn and next step is toimplement it !

Stabilizing the Cheer Level

Is it possible to be happy, active & confident always?
To a large extent, it is possible by getting involved in theactivities which provide pleasure & cheer. But compellingourselves to feel these without understanding the source formood depression, doesn't work. It is our thoughts that lead usto emotions, which in turn results in behavior.
Recognizing and correcting those perceptions will lead to morefulfilling and consistent joys.
To stabilize the cheer level, we must first stabilize our thoughtsMood fluctuations are normal as long as they don't interfere inour daily routines much. They can happen due to ups anddowns in stress and pleasure hormones. Regulation of thethese require a healthy routine involving healthy eating &sleeping habits, yoga, meditation, exercises and goal orientedconstructive thinking.
3) Resolve to replace unhelpful chatter with rational, constructive, reflective, educational and even relaxingthoughts. Include action points and goals relating toeach thought.
4) Finally shift to action mode, trying repeatedly, consistently and without the pressure to ace it in a day. With this, we shall enjoy the awareness andmindfulness we achieve, a better regulation of thoughtsand emotions and a liberation from feeling helplessabout where our mind takes us.

A FOUR STEP TOOL TO DEAL WITH ANXIETY:
1) Recognize the moment when the negative thoughtssurge in our minds. This helps us to listen to what we aresaying to ourselves & acts as an alarm.
2) Stop judging yourselves for having these thoughts, it isimportant to accept and normalize thought errors, because they are common.

Schematic in nature, generally created while performing Design /
Process / Machinery FMEAs, to define the project boundaries. May
use symbols such as Square, Rectangle, Circle, Arrows.
Block diagrams are also called as Boundary diagrams.
What do they mean ?Acceptable Reliabiity levels
The required level of reliability for a part, system, device, which may
be expressed as number of failures in 10,000 hours
Note : A Quality product need NOT be a reliable product
Block diagrams
18
They are generally those factors which can not be controlled by the
designers. A concept widely used in Design FMEA, Design of
Experiments & Lean Six Sigma. Typical examples for the Noise
factors would be Customer mis-use, natural variability while
manufacturing

Being used on Variable and Attribute
data for taking actions while performing a
process. Useful for variation reduction
What do they mean ?Non-random patterns
Signs of assignable cause of variations during processing, which
shall be understood through Control charts. They are to be
eliminated, when detrimental to the process. Eg. Runs and Trends
Stop-light Control charts

Production Part Approval Process ( PPAP ) runs are part of Phase 4
of New product development ( NPD ), which are considered in the
Check element in PDCA cycle. They are primarily for the Customer's
to get convinced that the Supplier organization shall produce their
parts / products of good quality in a consistent way. An
effectiveness measure for the whole of APQP activities.
Phase 4 of NPD is Product / Process validation
What do they mean ?PPAP run

A special for you

Situation AnalysisYou are now representing an OEM and auditing your Tier1
supplier.
One critical part ( having multiple processes, including Heattreatment ) is under New Product Development
( NPD ), While auditing the NPD process, you are particularabout the Capacity requirement. As per the CFT analysis, the
over all capacity of the plant ( for the part developed by themfor your organization ) is considered as okay, since the
present available capacity is 20 % and the new part needsonly 10 % of the capacity addition.
In your audit, will you be satisfied with this or else, will look forward any specific points, to ensure the
Capacity is sufficient ?
You also have ensured, that your ramp up plan isconsidered by your supplier CFT.
Please think deeply and discuss with your circle members on the situation given here !

Process FMEA ( AIAG-VDA version ) 1st Edition
Question from Mr. A Rajasekaran
Can we consider SPC as one of the Prevention Controls ? Since wetake the readings from the outputs, I'm raising this question !
Our responseYes. It was a 4th edition change ( year 2008 ).When we deploy a Control chart ( say X bar R
chart ), we must consider Non-randompatterns such as Trends & Runs. Keeping this
spirit in mind, SPC may be considered as aPrevention control tool, in the
Process FMEA !
