Welcome to the 11th European Colorectal Congress
Dear colleagues, it is a great pleasure to welcoming you to the 11th European Colorec-tal Congress (ECC) from 4 to 7 Dec 2017 in St.Gallen, Switzerland. The key topic of this year’s Europe-an Colorectal Congress (ECC) will be rectal cancer. The aim of this Symposium is to show the im-portance of anatomy, pathology
and modern diagnostics for strategic decision making when it comes to choosing the right therapy.
Internationally renowned Experts will discuss with the plenum the importance of surgery, with regard to modern neoadjuvant therapy, for small or locally advanced carcinoma in the future. These innovative treatment approaches may also give rise to new challenges and strategies. Prevention and the treatment of complications, especially of anastomotic leaks, will, of course, be discussed.
As in the past a Masterclass in Colorectal Surgery preceded the congress.
We hope to have set up an interesting programme for this year’s ECC and we look forward to exciting discussions.
Best regards,
